    I'm an oldie, I have a large 4x4, my 17 year old daughter has passed her test and we bought her a fiesta (love the new models).... Im left with a 10 year old son who will be in the car with me, I now only drive locally and very seldom, if ever, trips on the motorway.
    I decided to buy a 2nd car, a small runaround. Last car I expected to buy was a fiat 500 lounge. I have lots of spinal issues and struggle with seats that accommodate my spine. I sat in the fiat for a laugh.... But laugh was on me.... I loved the seats and the upright position, clutch is within easier reach as is the gearbox.
    Took it for a test drive. 30 mins later I bought it, and I love it. Can park anywhere, turn on a 50p, smooth drive, but what fun to drive and is nippy esp around my twisting country roads where I live.
    I adore my fiat. It's UK spec and manual transmission. I know it's a car driven more by young glamorous types.... But this oldie loves hers. 😂

      I love them too, always have right from the original, plenty of them still around and all over the place in Sorrento all driven by us oldies 😎

    The dualogic doesn’t creep forward when you engage ‘D’: it picks up drive only when you press the throttle. It also refuses to engage at all unless you’ve got your foot on the brake; in the hustle and bustle of the city, that can slow you down and frustrate you.
    Also, it makes for slower getaways from a standstill than the manual, and when it eventually gives up you could be stranded in the middle of a busy road or motorway. Mine has 18,000 miles 3 1/2 years old just stopped in the middle of the road this week and beeped at me.

    Have you got any issue with the Dulogic gearbox so far? Seems like lots of people experienced dropping to Neutral while driving. How many mileages on your one now?

    I am considering a 2012 fiat 500 lounge right now. Only 64000 miles!...its beautiful. I'm from the US, how much would you say it'd cost to maintain around here? thanks!

      running costs and servicing are very reasonable and wont break the bank

    thanks for sharing. Fiat 500 is really too small but stylish car. It looks best-used in urban traffic, but i don't know that the performance in motorway may be bad. :(
    Greetings from Turkey..

    Lovely design but there lots of issues with the dualogic gearboxes. Is he driving manual or in auto ? No hill start ? Roll back ?

      Barrie Crampton I’ve dispensed with the engine and gear box altogether . My horse ‘ Midnight ‘ pulls the whole contraption ! Stops on hills with a light tap of the whip and a promise of a bag of oats .

    Nice car, but you should be sitting closer to the steering wheel. In an accident you wouldn’t stand a chance.

    When you park the car, do you leave it on neutral?

    • @BarrieCrampton
      @BarrieCrampton  3 роки тому

      yes you leave this in neutral but if it was a traditional auto gearbox you would leave it in park
