The 2 part episode of the Hakodate saga that concludes with Awaken the Power is literally the best episode of Love Live ever made, and I don't think it'll ever be beaten. The whole sister dynamic between Dia and Ruby and Sarah and Leah, and then the little sister fellowship between Ruby and Leah, this is part of what makes Sunshine the best of the LL's.
my only problem with the song is that it was supposed to be a duet with leah and ruby, and everyone else joining kinda took away any meaning it had and frankly was reverse character development. (i still love you with all my heart Ruby)
My only gripe about the performance was that the second and third years was in it as well. “Hey sisters. We wrote you this song, but in order to receive it, you have to dance it with us". And the second years mean literally NOTHING in this!! Kanan and Mari if you squint at it cause they're Dia's best friends, but still.
I agree. I would understand if they released an extra version where all 9 members of Aquors and the 2 of Saint Snow were singing the song but I really feel like the shortened version for the show should have just been Ruby and Leah singing the song instead of having everyone else join halfway through
@@roderickbawcutt I concur. That would make sense, to have a full group version. It just made sense to have it be a first years' song. Just Ruby, Leah, Hanamaru and Yoshiko. Ruby and Leah would lead, and the other two could do the backing, to symbolize how they stayed behind to help and support them.
This was another amazing analysis, I really enjoyed this song and this arc in the series and it was nice to have it re-explained for the parts I didn't comprehend watching this.
