@Randy Maverick Instablaster =)
wonderful video, absolute value ! many thanks
I love the HP ZBook Fury 17 G7 is the best option for the professional user, and also HP ZBook Fury 15 G7.
Hello HP, nice video :-)
I lucky got the dual NVMe holder with the third an fourth brackets. But I did not get them to work.
My setup is the original NVMe in the slot under the keyboard. After adding two 4TB Corsair NVMe in slot 3/4 Windows runs in a "try to repair" loop.
It works with one oft the 4TB Corsair NVMe - but not with both of them.
In the bios/diagnostic/ menu all the ssd are detected. Is there a capacity limit?
Thx
This is great information. Kudos.
+Kimo Pollock Glad it was so useful!!
@@HPSupport Not useful yet, but I'm sure it will be in the future. I watched this video before I received my ZBook and truly was impressed. I just wish my ZBook would have lasted longer than five days, literally five days, before I had to send it back for warranty service due to terminal errors... whea_uncorrectable_error. I hear this error is hardware related. GPU? Who knows? I just hope it's not another five weeks to get it back like it was after I ordered it.
Very good instructions for upgrading
+Rico N You are welcome.
Thanks for the video!
I want to upgrade my RAM at zbook fury 17 g7 from just one module with a second one to dual chanel.
So which slots do i have to use for dual chanel?
I couldn´t find anything in the manual and also didn´t found a manual in gerneral for the HP 8780 Motherboard.
Thanks in advance.

what kind of PCIe are the NVME port? From the nvme ssd that came with the laptop it seems to be PCIe 3.0. I wonder if one of the NVME ports is PCIe 4.0?

Hello,
I would like ask you about the part from "03:40 - Convert from HDD to SSD Storage". I probably found the original part: "Hard drive bracket, available in the Bracket Kit
L68842-001". But it is not looks like from this video.
May I ask you where it would be possible to find the part to convert HDD space to be used by two SSD M.2? Link, part number etc. It would be very helpfull.
Thank you.
Richard
P.S.: Excellent video manual.
+Richard Ada You can purchase the part from here: partsurfer.hp.com/ Please select your country and enter serial or product number of your unit.
@@HPSupport I still do not find part from "03:40 - Convert from HDD to SSD Storage" for Fury 17 G7
I believe the part is Solid-state drive carriage M20090-001
it is currently backorder status
What type of battery was in that presented model? 94 Wh or 50-ish Wh? 94 Wh type seems to be much thicker on the narrow side (fromk this PoV where the 2.5" slot is located) which means that if a 94 Wh battery is installed you cannot mount the additional disc into 2.5" slot. Right?
+Ferdish3 It uses battery type HP Long Life 8-cell, 94 Wh Li-ion polymer.
@@HPSupport thanks for the answer. So there is enough space for 2.5" disc to be mounted. One last question - been searching for an answer to it everywhere, even contacted the HP support but nobody gave me a sufficient answer: I have a plan to mount a WD Blue SATA SSD into that available 2.5" slot. I noticed that the HDD on the video is place in some type of mounting frame. Do I need the same frame for my SSD? Is this frame included as an accessory in the notebook package if I decide to purchase one, or do I have to purchase it individually? And if the latter is true, where can I purchase it? I'd prefer some European shop if possible due to ridiculous delivery times from USA or China.
Hi, could you please tell me where I can purchase the Convert from HDD to SSD Storage. Thank you. I appreciate your help.

I have a HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 790-0078no, i would like to upgrade the motherboard to a z390 so i could use an i9-9900k processor, is it possible?
+Robocopter HP does not recommend upgrading or downgrading hardware parts or software that is bundled with the product as It may affect the manufacturer's warranty and performance, however, you could change the configuration at your own discretion.
Something's wrong here - I ordered the SDD holder (EXPENSIVE piece of tin) and three arrived. The two that have the thermal strips as shown DO NOT fit a Fury G7. The one without thermal strips does fit. What does this mean is the video wrong?
+David Homer Please contact our phone support team to fix this issue. Please follow these steps to reach them.
Step 1. Open link: support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp
Step 2. Select the product type.
Step 3. Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.
Step 4. Select the country from the drop-down.
Step 5. You should see the HP phone support number.
@@HPSupport your support is terrible.
I found that I could move the thermal strips from one of the brackets that doesn't fit into the bracket that does fit. Some instructions in the box would be useful as to why there are three brackets in the box.
1. This does not look like the ZBook 17 Fury G7 I have. My model no. is 9UY34AV

Intel website says my processor i7 10th gen 10850H supports 2933mhz while the one by default configuration in HP SPECIFICATION says 2666mhz could you please confirm me if my workstation supports 2933mhz, Secondly if I buy 3200 Mhz RAM which once installed will degrade to support 2933mhz as per my processor ?
So you recommend I stick with 2666mhz 4×32 GB=128 GB Non Ecc Memory to upgrade if I want 128GB or can I use 2933mhz or 3200mhz 4*32GB total 128gb ram?

Good video but the servicer needs to be more gentle. Coming from an avowed HP 17 inch Workstation enthusiast. Can't wait for an Apple M1 soc equivalent Intel chipset, PCIe 4.0, WiFi 6.0 and 5G-ready version of these HP 17 inch Workstation laptops.
