Morning Stephen. Just catching up on your vlogs. This is a thought re. your musket ball. Not trench art as mentioned below, I mean why right? But I do know that during the Civil War contaminated shot was used because it caused infection in wounds. It was a really powerful psychological threat. Basically, The shot would be smeared with dung - the grooves then make sense. Not 100% but it looks about right if you're finding it in a context with other musket balls👍

i would say that it may be a scott musket shot found simlar at bishops thorps in yorkshire the camp of the jocks trench art 17th century not to make the ball fly better
