Creole culture is part of Latinité when Napoleon invaded Mexico. He coined the term Latinité to differentiate from Anglophone Wasp culture, Latinite is Creole culture, Acadians, Quebecois, Hispanophone.
Thank you. Not from either culture but the fact that the French speaking islands are not included in Latin American culture when they speak a Latin language, eat similar food, and have other similarities to the rest of Latin America baffles me. Brazil is always included even the Philippines sometimes. 🤷🏿♀️
Yes people sleep on Haitian food. I moved to an area with a large Haitian population and all I can think about is how many years of my life were wasted because I didn't have it in my life.
Wowwww, she said "Djon djon" for mushrooms and in Jamaica we sometimes call mushrooms "Juhn-jo". My head grew for some reason lol. I know we're all family in the Caribbean, but hearing that just made me feel some type of way!!
I'm watching this for the first time today🇯🇲. I heard that and was like. .... that sounds familiar, lol. I was telling my Dad and he said there's a root word derived from Africa and that all the islands have their own way to say the same thing when you see the word and what it represents you can see the similarities.

Oh wow I didn't think I'd be this emotional watching this video. I love seeing Haitian culture being incorporated in mainstream media. Definitely helps changes people's perspectives of our country.
The way they started eating with knife and forks then once they tasted the food they ate with their hands. Thats how you know that is soul/home food (soul being made with love and culture and respect). Good on you, Mama God bless xxx
Yeah a lot of people don't understand that Haiti and Dominican Republic is basically the same place they just split in half one conquered by Spain the other one conquered by the French I tell Dominicans all the time that if Spain did not give up the other side of Dominican Republic you all will be Dominicans sadly people don't understand that history an follow the way of their persecutors

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU Pero Like for including US in your videos ❤️🇭🇹❤️ ESPECIALLY SPANISH SPEAKING HAITIANS!! I swear, this makes me want to cry because all of my life people have told me I'm not Latinx because I'm Haitian and I'm not Haitian because I speak Spanish. There is a MASSIVE community of us and I'm so glad you all made the effort towards this, especially in a video with a Dominican and a Haitian. I've been watching your videos since the beginning and this just made my whole day!
I'm really glad to have seen this video and your comment. I've worked with a few Haitians(dated a couple too) but they all spoke creole and French. I didn't know there were many Haitians who spoke Spanish, especially knowing the history with the Dominican Republic. I learned something today. Hope to keep learning. And glad to see you represented! 🇭🇹😁
So I'm quite ignorant to this fact, cause my mind was blown(in a very good way) when he was speaking in Spanish and she understood so can you can please school me on this matter. Basically meaning could you tell how did that come about, like is Spanish a language of Haiti, how did it come about to Haiti if so, and what is the relationship with DR and Haiti?
MrsAlmightyKey creole and than French are the most popular languages amongst Haitians but Spanish follows and after I think Arabic... if I’m not mistaken as we have a small Lebanese population there too! It’s very common for Haitians to speak Spanish I can’t speak for Dominicans but my dad is fluent and I’m passing 😂 our culture is super rich as we are literally a mix of African French and Hispanic culture! 🇭🇹☺️

Depends which ones.
Here in Las Vegas, finding Mexican, Salvadoran/Honduran and Cuban spots is easy, but there's only a few Colombian, Venezuelan and Peruvian spots. I don't think there are any Caribbean spots (minus Cuban). Boricuas and Dominicans just aren't common here
i may not be haitian or dominican but this video warms my heart because those 2 countries haven't exactly had the best relationship. i also love the power of food, because food brings people together 🇩🇴❤️🇭🇹
YESSSS!!! 👏🏾Come 👏🏾thru supporting small Black businesses & bringing Joyce some home on a plate! I see you Gadiel!!! ✊🏾💗
I had the pleasure of trying that Djon Djon black rice with fried chicken thanks to a co worker!! That food is dope!! Saludos de un hermano Nicaragüense 🇳🇮✋
This video made me so happy!!!🇭🇹♥️🇩🇴 especially as a fellow Haitian who moves to a city with no Haitian restaurants that means a lot!! Gadiel is the man! 🙌🏽
This video has a special place in my heart! As a Haitian woman I watch Pero Like all the time but its so refreshing seeing this representation of Haitian culture on a latino platform! I could taste all my favorite food through the screen- well done Gadiel, and Joyce and blessings to the chefs!
It's beautiful seeing the two cultures coming together.

I love Joyce. Joyce is my fellow Haitian sister. She is the most incredible part of this whole entire video. She is a proud Haitian just like myself.
Knowing what's going on in our country right now it feels so good to see some Haitian appreciation right now!! And I pray that they can get their food truck on and going and again and give the city a taste of Haïti!! ❤

I love that it was in spanish almost? a french spanish! I love the old lady, she seem so nice, & I love Seeing joyce and Gadiel's relationship!
Chadwick James Santos how did they speak Spanish
Baaba Christian Haiti and Dominican Republic share the island of Hispaniola. There are many Haitians that speak Spanish especially if they’re near the border or moved into the DR.
Actully the older lady is bilingual or perhapa trilingual we know she can speak Creole and Spanish and perhaps French and the guy can speak Creole, Spanish, English and perhaps French, just amazing...
Sherry Herran dominican en la frontera speak creole too
Thank you for showing the world how delicious Haitian food is.🇭🇹
I'm so happy seeing this video man. Thank you 🇭🇹🇩🇴
I use to have Haitian co-workers and I would go to their house parties. That's when I fell in love with the food, the culture. Black rice is the best!! 🤤

I LOVE Haitian food. My fav is the staple grio, black rice and etc.. I love crab legume and the regular rice and peas. As a Brooklyn Caribbean native this brought me back to some moments in my childhood with all the Haitian Christenings , birthday parties, church outings, and etc.. Food was always on point. 👍🏽🙌🏽

Love this I hope more people can be accepting of Haitian people as a Dominican I’ve seen some questionable things. Always try to keep an open mind y’all!
Josephine Bournes well I’m dominican so you might not be aware of the conflicts going on there, and there’s a lot of racism against Haitians so,,,,
@@Likelyfairy that's not true
Nazgul OvHell dude I’ve lived there how u gonna tell me that lol
@@FlyingNazgul-wm1dv it's true what he said I am Haitian I am living in Santiago, when some of Dominican start speaking with me but when they know I am from HAITI they stop speaking to me...
Genise Beaufort i was out in the plaza with my grandma and there was a Haitian shoe shiner I saw with my own two eyes as two Dominican men talked shit about him and saying things like “Haitians are all coming here to ruin the country” he stayed quiet and couldn’t even defend himself. People who say it isn’t true are just ignorant
I literally cried! Tears of joy!!!! This was amazing!!!!
Gadiel and Joyce are the best, i love their good vibes, saludos desde México!!
LA County and the internet, DO YA THANGGGGGG 🇩🇴🇭🇹☮️☮️☮️
