I agree my husband and I married very young and Clintwood Virginia but when he passed over a year ago, we celebrated 43 years hardest thing I’ve ever walked through in my entire life and I’ve been through a lot of deaths anyhow yeah that precious best friend love connection everything I love seeing other young couples that are truly in love and so kindand patient with each other and just love each other and have so much respect for one another. It’s great to see that a lot of that is lost on our generation anymore lol that makes me sound old but it’s a truth.

I'd probably plant some fruit trees around the yard in places where they won't shade the garden sections, but that's just me. Looking forward to see how you transform your yard over time!

The more active you are walking etc... the easier your labor will be. God Bless you.
Absolutely. Walking will cut that labor time way down. I walked 2 miles every day and my labor only lasted 2 hours. I thanked my doctor after I gave birth for telling me to do that. You said you get stiff when you sit down for 30 minutes or so.. don’t sit down.. lay down and stretch your body out when you rest with a pillow between your knees to keep your back and hips aligned. You’ll see how much better that is to prevent that stiffness. Preferably on one side or the other… baby boy will like it too!
During my wife's first pregnancy she had toxemia. I'm glad you and Katie are having healthy pregnancies. Once again, God takes care of his children.

That is so special that a viewer sent you this wonderful gift! Nice to see that Austin may become another Matt. Can't wait to see what you plant and then your harvest. You could always get those planter boxes that go over your porch railng to plant small things like lettuce or radishes.
We laid cardboard in between the raised beds and covered it with pea gravel for walking paths. On the outside edges of the planters where there was grass we plopped down old logs and it keeps the planters from shifting and protects the planters from my weed whacker. LOL.
Wood chips are good, the cardboard will eventually breakdown & pebbles will go into the earth & are costly. Save $$$$
I was going to suggest pea gravel. We had two big beds & they were a pain to cut around. They had to be torn down they were wood & they rotted.
We tried pea gravel, but it was quite slippery, I would not recommend - especially on even a mile slope or if you like to run or have a puppy dog.
Wood chips have been better. Fine or ultra fine pine shavings might be another good one, makes the ground soft to walk on. Straw that hasn’t been sprayed with pesticides or herbicides or chemicals may also be great, I’ve heard it works great for chickens to churn into compost and great as a mulch around plants in garden beds and on pathways. Someone said that cardboard can attract mice, though I don’t know if that’s true or not. Plastic tarp is said to put plastics in the soil. So, wood chips, pine shavings, or non-sprayed straw seems to work best for us - absorbant in heavy rain, nice and soft to walk on, keeps the soil and ground moist and healthy, takes care of mud, and isn’t slippery.
I don't like coconut either, and I also don't care for nuts in my food. I can set and eat nuts of most types as a snack or lunch substitute in the back woods, but I don't want it in my food! Lol

I love that Austin says "that's all they are to it"! My family has always said that. I agree with Corie that the raised beds are beautiful! You can just walk out your door and pick some fresh veggies for supper! How cool is that!? Y'all are just such a sweet coup!e. I think blue/gray would be a nice color for your house, but I don't know what color the roof is, so I'm not sure. The popsicle talk made me want ice cream. If you've never tried it, you should try vanilla ice cream with Grapico/grape soda poured over it. It's delicious.

We see roadrunners running with lizards in their mouths in our neighborhhood. (New Mexico) We see hawks, but I've not ever seen one with a snake. Your garden will be nice! We love the looks of your yard! God bless you with an easy delivery Corie!
Thanks for sharing! As you know, new life is so exciting! You are correct Corie. Keep moving. I worked peds with my first full term, my Mom and my boss came in and made me go to L&D as I had gone to work without much discomfort just a little regular muscle tightening. Only 4 hours of what I (RN) consider "real" labor. Praying yours goes so easy. (all mine did). So so exciting. Parents with new babies, Grandparents with new grandbabies and gardens with new plants. He is good. He is great.

A friend told me that gardening, swimming and walking are all great activities for preparing for labor. I remember reading that cleaning floors on hands and knees outs baby in prime position for labor and birth ❤🥰

If you guys are very lucky, with those deep woods behind your house, you might get to hear the most magical birdsong ever....the wood thrush! They are usually heard most at dusk....and its just wonderful!!!

My husband and I love those pop icicles even the coconut 🥥 ones! We really like the pineapple 🍍 ones too. Our favorite is the grape. They have a mango one with hot peppers in and our three grandchildren love them we did not! Beds look great I love raised garden beds.

Place your beds a mower width apart. When I lived in the mountains had my house painted a medium green with dark brown trim. Like a Nat'l Park cabin. I share my magazines with neighbors.
I've so wanted 2 of those raised garden beds, but they are too expensive here.
Walking and keeping active during pregnancy helps a lot!!! It keeps your muscles working properly. If anyone was working out the obstetrician tells you don't stop exercising. I like the wood grain little garden bed. Don't have to put wood in the bottom.
When you get to painting the house how about like a medium brown with darker green trim?

The beds look great. My favorite Popsicle is root beer. I haven't seen them in forever. I don't think anyone makes them anymore. It looks like baby has dropped some. ❤
You two are so adorable and precious. Suggestion; before ypu both start putting dirt into your new garden beds. Put down screening on the ground, then cover with weed prevention paper, then add your dirt. This will help with rodents coming up under neath the bottom of each garden bed and eating your vegetables. Love you both. God's blessings

I laid down cardboard and used thick layer of dirt, then topped with pine straw. Surrounded entire bed area so that there is no problem for mowing.

If you put sticks at the bottom and soil on top. The sticks will decay and turn to compost and it holds the water so your plants will be more heat resistant and you will use less soil.

Corie you could make Austin some homemade coconut popsicles without toe nails using coconut milk, heavy cream, some coconut extract, and sweetened condensed milk! They sell popsicle molds on Amazon! You two are just so precious. I love it. The rock I received from your wedding sits on my rock table, so i think about and pray for you often when i see it. ❤
