Experiencing Awakening has become a yearly thing for me... Since the game's release, every year, I start a new game just to experience the entire story again...
Yeah, I played it for the first time this year and it has quite easily became my favourite game of all time with 13 playthroughs, apotheosis secret waves bested, 99,999 renown and every support conversation unlocked on a single save file. Although a year hasn't yet passed since I first played awakening, it's 100% gonna be a yearly ritual for me too. Such a goddamn great game
I got this gem for my birthday in 2012, I was 10 years old back then and I thought this was a fighting game based on the commercial I saw (It showed battle animations and cutscenes) I played it and found it wasn't a fighting game but gave it a chance anyways. Now here I am as a 21 year old crying to the ost. I make sure to listen to this every few months just to remember my childhood. This game meant a lot to me as a kid and it still does as an adult.
Ever played through a game more than 10 times and STILL uncover new dialogue, new possibilities and have new experiences with it? Yeah. Awakening is terrifyingly special. Long live the franchise. Don't care if you began your FE journey here or not, it's still special and it saved the series. This game is legacy.
I really wish it wasn't so horribly unbalanced, I can't enjoy it anymore after learning all the secrets to cheesing it, even Lunatic+ is a cake walk minus the constant resets needed to not get the cancerous skill combos. And sadly the game falls off hard and feels rush after Chrom kills Gangrel.

Huh. The grimleal leader themes (gangrel/validar/grima in monstrosity) is like a corrupted version of this melody.
