Thank you for your great videos! I like to fish in Wisconsin and have been to lake Wisconsin and lake petenwell. I learn a little more each time I go. Your videos and advice help a lot and I really appreciate it! Thank you for taking the time trying to help people like myself!!

In the springtime even before the ice is melted they lower Castle Rock quite a bit for the springtime water flow. We didn't really have any a few years ago so last summer was the lowest the Wisconsin River had been in the thirty years my parents lived below Castle Rock.
My boss fished an area on Lake Wisconsin that they called "the narrows" I think during the fall sturgeon season. It was where the lake first opened up at the northern end. He could tell by the riffles in the surface where to cast. He fished the lake for at least forty years.
He caught a buffalo one time that was the state record at one time. He had the DNR boat weigh it and then threw it back because he didn't want to eat it so it was never registered. They beat his fish less than five years later

    Jim,
Thanks for the overview, with this warm December sure has me thinking about fishing. If all goes well I'll be fishing below the Dells this week for walleye. Let me know if you're ever planning a group trip and looking for like minded crazies that would rather be in a boat than with their loving significant others.

My focus has been more on individual points or smaller areas your showing the big picture is very helpful ,it’s more like buck would have told someone to see it I think it’s too easy to get bogged down in my search .

Thx for the info! I will try ice fishing here for walleyes. Do you think I should fish the shallow side or deep side of the break lines?

      Casting or Trolling?
Trolling- medium heavy rod, water down to 12ft, Buck's No-bo, deeper I use braid (30 or 40lb)
Casting- Personal preference, but I use a medium heavy, fast tip 6ft to 7ft, braid or mono.
The equipment selection is more personal preference. Depends on the depth and speed you are trying to accomplish.
