    You usually go to PICK mushrooms, not to PICK UP mushrooms. PICK UP would mean they were lying around, maybe discarded by someone else. I guess that pick up and pick is the same word in Russian (?)

    This language is so fascinating!
    The more I study it, the more I realize how much different Russian society's mindset from the West. For example, the phrase for "push" would be "ot ceba" literally meaning "from myself" and "pull" is "ha ceba" literally means "to myself". This may confuse many Westerners, but it's sort of a contextual difference between 2 societies that are a world apart.
