Well Dave! You totally made me knee slap laugh again. The slipper thing and “ I’m a genius” ! Lol. The banana thing was also genius to enrich the night. Ashley your costume was the best! Nice to see the grandma. And Navaho tacos looked yummy. Those were the days you could give out home made items without fear of razor blades etc!
The razor blade rumors were around when I was a kid in the 1960s and 1970s 😉🐈⬛🐈💖🌈
The razor blade rumour has been around since Halloween was commercialised. But it’s actually an urban myth…wouldn’t surprise me if it was started by candy companies to deter people from handing out treats like fresh fruit and doughnuts (or scones!) and by their sealed candy products instead.

It’s cool that you guys can trick or treat later in the night. Where I live it ends at 7:00 and it’s spring too so the sun won’t set until 8:00

Where I’m from the isle of Man we don’t do trick or treat we do what’s called Hop Tu Naa. Halloween falls on Hop Tu Naa which is a the Celtic new year and children go round the houses with carved turnip lanterns and sing a traditional song about a witch. Although this doesn’t actually have any connection with Halloween it’s merged over the years so now we mix the two celebrations together and do a bit of both. Unfortunately neither are as popular though as they seem to be in the US and we don’t decorate our houses or anything. The US version looks like alot of fun.
We do a group Hallowe’en with our neighbours on the street. This year it was snowing though so we were dressed for the weather, boots skipants winter coats!

We had so many sponsored Trunk or Treat events that our trickortreaters went from 200 / 300 down to 9. Funny thing was our doorbell rang at 9:20 pm and the kids said they were here to take our leftover candy, it worked, we gave it to them!

Wedo not really celebrate Halloween in Germany last year I had ONE child ring for trick or treat (maybe 4 fully grown soul sucking dementor hanging aroud the door were to scary) - this year I got fully "great hall" including a life size version of nearly headless Nick and it did the trick. I had more kids come and ring. Was fun!
Usually here grown ups do not wear costumes.
So it's always fun to be remindedof my "american year" and watch you.

I love the costumes and how excited they were. i especially love the navajo tacos. i grew up in utah and my grandma made them over the 4th of july. If you can find blue bird flour then that is the secret to making them extra fluffy and even more delicious. and yes chase it down with honey butter. yummm

Hello Dave’s mother! This video was so much fun to watch. When I was a child and trick-or-treating, I was scared by an adult in a costume, people laughed at me and I was embarrassed. I never enjoyed Halloween as much since then until I saw how much fun your kids were having. 🥰
