Really miss you Barry. I know you don't really do the same stuff anymore, but your stories and other content always added joy to my life. Thank you for all of it, glad you're doing okay despite the situation 🖤
there is something so nostaligc and warming about hearing you tell a story im 20 years old so i was around 11-15 when i really watched you heavily, i dont know how to describe it perfectly but i really appreciate you and your videos. hearing your voice tell stories is like an instant dopamine boost.
Hey Barry, been a fan for a while at this point. was around for all the story videos (prolly watched them all around 100 times). hope everything goes well for you man.
Woah you're staying at a hotel right near my dad's house! I've stayed there a couple times myself! If I had a bigger place I'd offer a room to stay but I can offer some advice on San Francisco cheap living since I've lived here my whole life!
@@BulletBarry I think my comment keeps getting deleted cuz I had a link :'( As far as hotel if you can't find a cheap Airbnb that will let you stay kind of as you go in case your visa gets approved I would actually recommend Motel 6. They've improved recently and are as cheap as $70 per night. There's 3 of them in San Francisco. The Fisherman's Wharf and Lombard street are in safe areas but the one on Geary street is in a more shady area. All locations have safe on site Parking though so you won't have to worry about your van! I got a link for you that will take you to a landing page with the corporate plus discount code applied which will take 10% your total. They don't need to verify anything online or in person to use that discount I use it all the time. For food I'd very much recommend a small Japanese supermarket in japantown called Nijiya Market. It's got a good selection of ready to heat full meals like bentos for very cheap. Otherwise the grocery chain Safeway has a great selection of ready to heat meals if you prefer stuff like chicken Alfredo, pot roasts, etc. San Francisco is pretty safe if you avoid the tenderloin, union square, Chinatown, and Bayview. Financial district is usually safe but gets a bit sketchy at night. If you have any other questions feel free to contact me on Instagram @hiraethcomplex or discord same name. And if you're still here on Friday I'd love to hang out and show you around SF and take you to some hidden gem food spots! Until then I'm broke this week lol
Unfortunately don't have cost saving tips, but out of all the cities to be stuck in San Francisco at the very least has a lot of stuff to do. Check out North Beach if you haven't already, and there's this really cool semi-hidden bar there called Bix. There's a lot of stuff like that in general, around every corner you can find something interesting and with history.
Hope ya can get things settled soon! Excited for more stories from ya, and best of luck in Vietnam! You’ve inspired me to travel there in the future. Cheers!
As someone born here in the bay area and still live here. They best way to save money is to leave, or like live in your car or an rv. Its mostly the cost of housing here, long term it seems like it could get better but idk. We are leaving, it would be cool to live in sf or the east bay but we cant afford it.
Im currently living in east bay. Shop at Aldi if possible or luckies. Bart is fairly reliable compared to MARTA so dont sleep on MUNI and BART. I kinda hope I run into you as Im in the city sometimes and its a small city.
You're lucky to be stuck in one of the best cities in the country, in the best state in the country. But seriously does this mean we may see more Vietnam in the future? I was endlessly fascinated by your first set of Vietnam stories.
@@Jacob-bm6wb Yeah but I think a great way to address that would be building more housing and banning AirBnB from the area altogether. Mid rise apartments explicitly meant to be bought, not rent. Public trams, trains would and bike lanes are good ways to get around. Owning a car is expensive.
@@Tokomi I do not live in a delusion. They are the best state in the country. The reason is state laws and those currently serving in statewide office. Other contenders for best state are Maine, Vermont, Oregon, Washington, Minnesota and Massachusetts.
Sorry, I absolutely hate that. Idk if you believe in devine providence, but maybe there's a good reason you haven't gone there yet. Still I hope you are able to get this sorted soon. I'll be praying.
I honestly believe you should do audiobooks. You’re such a good story teller
Thank you!!

I had some friends who just slept on the street when they passed through on a road trip back to Portland from Vegas. They were flat broke though.
hope you're doing well barry, good to see another story video
A fate worse than death, especially now, all of my family friends in the bay say it's gotten super sketchy in recent years.
Oh, damn. I really hope everything turns out alright
Yikes, stuck in one of the scariest places on Earth. Hopefully some divine intervention comes your way. Best wishes.
Thanks adam! We're hoping for the same!

I'm sorry you're going though this Barry. Stay safe.

Do you still have an interest in vr? If so it would be Interesting to hear you talk about it
Keep costs down. Sleep in GGP.. The place is a dump.

PFFFFF best cities in the country? Doesn't San Fran have a huge fucking homeless problem, so bad that people regularly shit in the streets?
