Hey guys great vid, myself and a mate flew in to the head waters of the Rangeteki river with Helisika to do a weeks fly fishing, the pilot was a young guy named Mark he was engaged to a young lady that worked in the office at Helisika, a week after he flew us back out, he had just flown 2 hunters into that area and on his way back out he crashed and died, this was about 5 years ago, our guide on that trip was Mark Aspinal a Taupo guide, it may have been his chopper you found, although from memory it was a robinson 440, the same colour as the one you guys flew in grey in colour, not sure what colour the rotor blades were though, any way just thought I'd pass that on.
it was a Robinson 660 which is a jet powered 440. I also flew in it about 4 days before the crash. Pilot was a nice guy and very careful. I’m never flying in a Robinson again though.. it was only about 3-4 months old so it was blamed on pilot error if I remember rightly.
Hey Clarke Boys, im loving the vids so far keep them up. Nice sika stags shot in this video, well done. A couple of days ago i shot a 13 point red stag.
Man this is awesome! How is the eliminator holding up? Still liking it? And what brand/model boots are you wearing? I'm looking for a new pair at the moment. Cheers
+Fabian Streit Yes eliminator is holding up well. Takes a little while to get the hang of but is going well. We use scarpa boots they are expensive but awesome.
Good hunting boys. Pity NZ Sika stags are not best gene pool and so small..must come from central Japan where they are a smaller type.. In North Japan--Hokkaido the wild stags are much bigger and often heads over double size of what you get ever in NZ
This stags antlers were already hard under its velvet so its antlers weren't going to grow any bigger this season. It may have grown bigger the next year but it was already quite a old mature animal so probably had reached its potential. It was a trophy to us and its meat was great.

I would really like some day to visit japan to see or even hunt sika they are my favourite deer.
Cheeky saying your old man got buck fever and shot it in the gut,, haha, turned out to be a good shot.
You guys should of left the stag till the roar as he would of been much bigger with much bigger tines and he might of scored over 175ds.......

+Clarke Boys Hunting NZ Ok thanks
32:58 is that a bottle of honey?
Yes it is. You just have to tape up the top so it doesn't open in your bag and make a bloody mess.
