This should probably be named "Melodyne Masterclass with Louis Bell" - incredible btw
So grateful for you uploading this, there's not too many specialist vocal producer tutorials online. It's usually producers who do a little mixing on the vocals, but never someone who goes through the correct way of Tuning, Aligning, etc.
Crazy. This kind of content like mix with the masters is invaluable. You used to have to intern and find work in a studio for years to gain all of this knowledge. What a blessing
I really love the automatic vocal alignment and the easy harmony function in Cubase, highly recommend for this task... massive timesaver!! ❤
His ears are amazing. This was veryyy interesting
I can tell he did a lot of melodyn on Sunflower for Swae Lees vocal. Especially the “ooh some things you can't refuse…” part
Audio puzzles, Thank You For Sharing , Melodyne is not so foreign now.
Not sure if you know this Louis but your the artist!!! The people you you work with are just instruments 😂. Awesome work flow
Thanks Mr. bell. Education from an actual industry giant.
It really helpfulll broo thanks🔥

Great video. Although I think it might already be a bit outdated because chances are that Louis is now using VocAlign to sync up those backing vocals and harmonies much quicker.
This. Vocalign is such a timesaver for this stuff. Other then that, super nice to see and hear a actual hit producer tune and produce vocals here!
I love this. Does this program have the ability to keep the vocal from sounding like an effect or tuned? If I was to get this for vocals, would the essentials be worth starting with?
It’s a lot more transparent then autotune is but imo your retune speed has a lot to do with that computer sound. It’s the speed in the note translations that does that. The best way to correct that is tighting up the timing in the performance.. practicing as an artist then editing it properly. Just my 2 cents
Is the vocal already pitch corrected before going into Melodyne? Trying to figure out the workflow...
My guy is a vocal surgeon 😅
This is great specially since Pro Tools got melodyne built into it now
So without Mdyne singers of today ain’t cutting it .
He is using windows 8 right... Omg 😮
The year is 2020 so kind of makes sense
easier to instal cracked plugins, I can understand him
So that melodyne bridge is it something else then the normal melodyne?
Melodyne bridge just makes it so he can hear the vocals out of pro tools
So hard so speed
he is so fast in melodyne damn he probably has crazy hours with it
It’s amazing to see this. And his vocal engineering skill is insane.
But gosh I dislike that sound.
It makes it sound like an episode of Glee. I can hear the tuning on almost every notes (Melodyne + Autotune here I feel).
But it’s quite impressive being able to do that so fast.
I love the video and it's really interesting to watch but it's such a label approach. I mean it's only possible when you have the whole team behind you that does all the work for you. If you're DIY artist and make your music on your own it's too time consuming and almost too polished. I'm just trying to say that it's really cool to have the opportunity to peep how professionals work and maybe take some notes but overall you absolutely don't need to do it that way.
have you come across any videos for a simple must do? I kinda just want a list/review of most common vocal effects so I can mess around with them.
@@CH-fb4lz yea I have. Waves has video on their channel with the mixing engineer that mixed Neon Guts by Uzi and Pharrell. I used to use his chain a lot. It may seem a little complicated but you can pick up the basics of why certain plugins go after other and just basically replace all of the plugins with stock ones. I've simplified my chain since that and changed some plugins but the core base is still the same.
@@jeffvibesmusic Thanks homie, i'll have a peek!
@@CH-fb4lz no problem! Wish you all the luck, keep going🙏
@@jeffvibesmusic Right back at you! Gotta stay focused :) dream big!
Is that still artistry and music?
If the SONG touches someone. I've heard incredibly talented people mix their gifts with incredible music and - blah - create a song that doesn't move anybody.
PROTOOLS is for adults

mf going too fast in melodyne
Why not just autotune instead of melodyne and save time?
Melodyne is more surgical
Alternatively, try to melodyne first (i do tuning, timing correction and evening out the dynamics which is like vocal riding) and then autotune on a medium or slow setting tune speed and max humanize setting after. Gets super naturel sounding vocals perfectly in tune without the tone-jumping glitches of using autotune only.
I was hoping this would go over performance so we don't have to use this crap. Of course that would take years of consistency and practice lol. Not just a few hours of tutorials. To death with the grid is the only way forward.
