Iran’s Health Ministry spokesman said some 84,000 Coronavirus positive cases in the country have fully recovered from the disease.
Speaking at a daily press conference on Friday, Kianoosh Jahanpour كيانوش جهانپور said the number of patients who have recovered from COVID-19 infection has reached 83,837.
He also noted that the number of people tested positive for the Coronavirus across the country has risen to 104,691 following the detection of 1,556 new cases since yesterday.
According to the spokesman, 55 Coronavirus patients have died over the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 6,541.
Among the Coronavirus patients undergoing treatment in the hospital at present, 2,711 ones have critical health conditions because of more severe infection, he said.
He also noted that 558,899 Coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in more than 130 well equipped laboratories across Iran so far.
More than 3,932,000 people have been infected with COVID-19 globally, and the death toll has exceeded 271,000.

In a congratulatory message on the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day روز صليب سرخ جهاني, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson said no global threat can defeat multilateralism and collective cooperation.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyed Abbas Mousavi عباس موسوي congratulated the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day in a message on his Twitter account on Friday.
“Neither the COVID-19 pandemic, nor the growing unilateralism, nor the chain of sanctions can sound the death knell for convergence and multilateralism,” he said.
“Cooperation has risen like a phoenix from the ashes of crisis,” the Iranian spokesman added.
“The World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day is reminiscent of pure models for the fight against the global threats,” Mousavi noted.
World Red Cross Red Crescent Day is celebrated on May 8 every year.
The day is the anniversary of the birth of Henry Dunant, who was born on May 8, 1828, and was the founder of International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the first Nobel Peace Prize laureate.
