"Barks only when necessary", "easy to train" - hahaha THOSE are good ones!! They love to protect their human and their property and hence LOVE to bark and also tend to ... well... - pinch - when they think they might have a reason. They are definitely no dogs for inexperienced people as they tend to be dominant in their behavior when they feel their human is useless. But they are gorgeous companions if you know how to handle a protective dog
Uh two things: Did you know animal planet made dogs 101 aswel And in a statement from them the doberman was used with breeding the german sheppard and the german pincher..
The GP bark is much deeper than the Minpin but he is not as yappy as a Minpin. If you could not see him and only heard his bark, you would think that it is coming from a Doberman.
@@ibbysadventures550 GP would not show up on a list for novice owners but it could certainly be done. Like any dog give him attention and exercise. The GP has low grooming requirements and is a fairly healthy breed but can be a little stubborn at times.
"Barks only when necessary" Does that mean every time a car within a hundred miles goes by? I'm moving into an apartment next week, and we're planning on getting a new dog within a couple of months. Also, are they at all destructive animals? The furniture that we have purchased isn't exactly the cheapest in the world, and I don't think my parents would be happy to come home to a couch that looks like it survived an Iron Maiden concert.
If you aren't active and willing to take your GP with you they will be miserable. If they're miserable they'll make you miserable. I looked for several years until I found the breed...I wanted a dog but I wanted one that I thought would suit me. I am energetic, enjoy the outdoors, stubborn, intelligent and playful...just like a GP. I recommend you go to AKC.org and use their breed selector or even the breed similarity thing that they use your Facebook info and compare it to a dog breed. My breeder told me they are not for a first time dog owner. I was but I just knew the breed suited me and everything you find on german-pinscher.com is correct. This dog is not for the faint of heart.
I'm getting one in 4 days and I can't wait!!
I love my German pinscher.

most of those dogs are minpins, not GPs.

I have a GP. Mine does not bark a whole lot. I once had a miniature pincher. He could bark all afternoon!

Two questions: Are they likely to harass cats? Can they be left alone at home for 9 hour work shifts?
I found this video deceptive. If you just listen and don't look at the pics it's fine. So many pics of other breeds with black and tan markings
im a proud owner of one :3
ARE GP EASY TO TRAIN?
ARE THEY OBDIENT DOGS?
The Rottweiler is in the German Shepherd, so there is Pinscherblood in the GSD

I’m just wondering if their bark is sort of similar to a miniature pincher or more deeper? :3

@@paulhobbs1937 HAVE YOU HAD ANY EXPERIENCE WITH GP?
@@ibbysadventures550 Yes I have. There are a lot of things that I like about them.
@@paulhobbs1937 WOULD YOU RECOMMEND GP FOR FIRST TIME NOVICE DOG OWNER??
