This week on Music Monday we show you the Ribbon Routine to Francis Lai's "Love Story" by the Belarusian individual rhythmic gymnast Liubou Charkashyna from London 2012. After her final ribbon routine, she kissed the carpet. As soon as the overall scores appeared, she shed tears of joy when she saw that she had won the bronze medal with a total score of 111.700 - Enjoy watching!

By the way, during the 2018 Asian Games, the Olympic Channel broadcasted the individual AA final and qualification routines. But I cant seem to find the videos anymore on the Olympic channel site. Do you have the whole competition video for RG Asian Games 2018? Could you please post them on UA-cam?

One of the most precious moments in RG history ❤️. She left her heart out on the carpet and won a well deserved bronze medal.
I remember watching this live as it aired, and I almost cried with her. For those who don't know, she was the #2 gymnast in her country for most of her career. When the #1 Belarusian gymnast retired, Charkashyna was expected to be the one to beat... But a younger gymnast came up and took all the glory instead. Liubov winning the Olympic medal was almost as if she won what she couldn't in the past (usually came in #4 in world events), but this day was hers, her time to shine, and kept Belarus at the podium after Zhukova took the Silver in Beijing.
And in Tokyo 2020, Alina Harnasko won the bronze medal.
And then you see all the perfect calm and poise of the experienced gymnast crumble to pieces for the emotion of the moment.
She knew that moment was the highlight of her career, all her hard work leading to those few seconds.
In this particular event, I cried for Kanaeva's majestic triumph, Charkashyna's final seconds, Garayeva's close 4th and Yeon-jae's dropped club that night.
Son Yeon-jae is closer to bronze in London rather than Rio because if that club didn't fall, she would be the bronze medalist whereas in Rio, Ganna performed better in 3 out of 4 apparatus than her.
Smh, club is indeed a dream crusher. Look what club did to Kudry in Rio
music...passion...beauty....one of the best programs I've ever seen.
I miss the times when Rhythmic gymnastics was fun to watch, now it is a rush speed routine. It is gymnastics without rhythmic.
I can't believe at what I see! Some weeks ago I left a comment on another video looking for this extraordinary performance by Liubou Charkashyna, because I couldn't find it and no one had published it before here on youtube. Now my wish has been granted. Thank you, Olympic Channel!

No, Luibou deservedly won the bronze medal. Garayeva took with her energy, and Cherkashina took with her experience. How much she had to endure to win this medal: Endless 4 places at world championships, the death of her mother, the age at which they are already ending their careers. But she managed, and incredibly deservedly won for herself and for Belarus🇧🇾🇧🇾❤❤
