There is only one problem with Egypt as it stands today: an unwillingness to use state resources to invest in the populace. If the Nile and Nile Delta shrink, water wells dry up, desertification and erosion happen which will since dams are being built downriver 90 million Egyptians are going to be affected, the only way I see them from not dying from thirst is importing bottled water or by building multiple water desalination plants like other Middle Eastern nations but the thing is their populations are tiny in proportion to Egypt's. Good luck to them that's all I can say. 🙏😢🌹

    The last comment is extremely fallacious.
    Egypt is not competing for hegemony and neither is Saudi Arabia. Firstly, the people of both countries don't want to be a hegemony. Secondly, S. Arabia doesn't have the leadership for a hegemony.
    Stratfor has got to stop looking at regions like if everybody wanted to become a hegemony. This isn't 18-19th century Europe and this certainly isn't 2000BC Middle East.
    Arabs are much more united than people think, this is why there will be a union.

    Saudi Arabia will never be a hegemonic power in the arab world, no matter how extremely wealthy they are, the centre of culture, arts, politics all usually have egypt at it's core,
    But Egipt now has very serious challenges as pointed out by stratfor, that is why it gives room tho the petromonarchies in the gulf like Saudi Arabia, Qatar and UAE

    But the future is very bright for a rebirth of a global Islamic Union or what is called a Caliphate, especially because of the huge technological advance that humanity reached nowadays in communication and transportation.

  • @mikeessam16
    @mikeessam16 12 років тому

    Thats true... Arabs are much more united than people think. Simply because a union between nations that is built on human belief regardless of your race or geographical location is a long lasting union, and thats what Islam did exactly?
    Islam united different nations from Indonesia to Andalusia in Spain through a belief system. Although a political union between these nations didnt last for more than a century basically due to lack of technological advance in communication and transportation.

    And today's Egyptians are also indigenous to Egypt. Only an idiot would believe otherwise.
    Most Egyptian lineage can be traced back to old kingdom's times. Then again, if you're one of these idiots who believed all ancient Egyptians were blacks than there is nothing I can say to you to remove this superstition you have bought into. Upper Egyptians were light skin and lower Egypt was dark skin. Eventually, just like any other country (India for example) light skin ruled over darker ones.

      Adam, STFU will that bull. Modern Egyptians are so mixed up like Americans you would be lucky to trace anything. Given Ancient Egyptian culture was African, not Arab, and the largest number of pyramids exists in Sudan, not Egypt or anywhere else in the "Middle East", save your lineage bull. Egypt stop being Egypt when it took the name Egypt and later became the Arab Republic of Egypt.
