U have two options
First apply as fiancee settlement if ur partner meets the financial requirements of £18600 per annum and u pass English test .once ur marriage is registered then u can switch to spouse Visa within UK.
Secondly u can apply for fiancee visitor Visa. Financial and language requirement doesn't apply to this category but high chance of refusal if u don't meet requirements. If u get Visa it will be only for 6 months and u have to leave the UK after registration of marriage and apply spouse Visa from home country.

As u r British Citizen therefore ur university cannot sponsor ur wife as dependent. She needs to submit spouse entry clearance. Current decision waiting time is 24 weeks.
