- I watched the 2020 Disney+ remake of Black Beauty and here is my review of it and my problem of it. If this does well enough I might do more reviews on horse movies.

I feel the film was trying to do what the original book did for animal rights back when it was first released. It does open your eyes to the plights of horses that happen today in the USA. I tried to judge it as it’s own parallel story changed for modern times. This movie is supposed to span actively over about a decade. Save for the slow beginning that looked like every other horse and girl movie.
I perfer the 1994 version :)
Id perfer if they labeled it something else or never made this movie lmao

One of the most infuriating things about Black Beauty (2020) is that Jo and George get married and they don’t show or tell you that they get married the movie expects you to accept and to know that

Am I the only one who thought Black Beauty could have been a Morgan cross? Also, yeah, in the original, he’s described to have a figure like a Thoroughbred. Why is Disney ruining good things? -_-
I'm okay with the changes since its an adaptation.
But the problem is there is no feeling. Its vacant with exposition out the ass
It's not supposed to be the same. It's a retelling of a similar story.
I am so infuriated by this movie. It was nothing like the book. First of all, Jo green was a boy not a girl. Black beauty was a boy not a girl. They changed how they got Black Beauty. They changed the WHOLE storyline. I am disgusted. They made it into a horse girl movie, I wanna slap the makers of this movie.

Lots of things wrong with this film. It annoyed me so much. They're throwing treats at Beauty and running away from her at the beginning, so of course she's going to learn bad lessons from that, and see people as lower than herself. Jo is supposed to be kind to her, but makes her wear a metal pain bit in her mouth, and metal shoes.
They keep leaving her bridal on her, and shutting her in dark stables. She has a lot of metal around her face. When she has a rope halter on, the end isn't tucked in, so it's just flapping around her face.
She says that she enjoys working in Central Park at first, even though every body knows that's one of the most brutal lives for a horse.
The best and most interesting part of the film, was when she was owned by Terry I think? She was doing mountain rescue. But that was for about 10 minutes of the film.
There were a million other things that annoyed me, and I don't even know where to start. It's a shame, because it could have been good.

@@gemlife1329 like they literally took an amazing book and turned it into a stupid horse girl movie. Like for once can a guy ride a horse be a horse owner... And for goodness sake the horse doesn't always need to be female.
Its like a mashup of spirit, flicka 1, flicka 3, heartland, and a tiny bit of black beauty. But butchered

I just finished watching it. I found it to be boring, cheesy and predictable. Typical Disney rubbish. I do like that they highlighted animal abuse and cruelty towards horses, and I disliked the other horses barely got a look in. Probably will never watch again.
Good grief …., this is based on a beloved show in the UK. Filmed before you were even BORN .

Is the plot of this the plot of the black stallion 🤨🤔 child finds a wild horse and the only the horse trusts said child
The setting is also wrong as this looks like it's set in the tame, tame west of America. Black Beauty doesn't belong in POC ridden America, she belongs in the racially purity of the English countryside.

It’s boring at best and is in no way black beauty
Over all, it’s a good enough movie. Solid 6/10
Its my comfort movie, i give it a 11/10
i think black beauty is perfect no mistakes the book just sucks my opinion not to crush or roast anyone
