I'm going to wait for this model. The next version should have some type of stabilization and use cameras on both sides to combine the images similar to a 360 camera.

Tech Fowler, I normally do not reply to any UA-cam videos, however, I thing you did an honest review of the Rayban Smart sunglasses. I wanted to let you know that I really needed to know about the "portrait /landscape question. Nobody answered that except you! I will wait until 4K and that option becomes available. Also, It appears that all the room may be available in the future =for them also to put a second camera on the left for 3D. I will wait for at least 4K continuoius recording w/ 128GB storage

As someone that used to work in an optical your points about the adjusting and polarized lenses over tinted one are on point. Maybe ppl with higher Rx might be bothered by the extra weight of the frame even with thin lenses. Also, are these waterproof or resistant?

I have the first-generation Stories; I love them when I am fishing in Costa Rica. You can just touch to turn on and you record exactly what you are seeing. So many times, I thought someone was recording the event to find out that it was just missed.
I have so many fantastic memories from different events that were just not obtainable without them. I just wonder if it worth it to upgrade to the new style and options. " Christmas is coming "

That’s a good option for action moments like skiing, on roller coasters, etc
Out in public the bleed is almost non existent. Inside in a quiet environment put the volume at 25% and only you can hear it loud and clear. Outside go about 50-75%. If you're in a VERY noisy environment you're not going to hear that well. My opinion is they should have integrated bone conduction as well as speakers that lets you switch between modes.

I love mine. The only complaint is that the battery is not powerful and doesn't last more than 2 hours. The other things are amazing, answer my calls without hands, ready my msgs and take pictures with my voice is awesome. I have to buy some nose grips because I have an oily face, yes I have a prescription, progressive and transition... AWESOME ❤❤❤❤
I play in a band and am really looking forward to try and stream a whole concert! That'd be fun!
30 second vid clips and then you have to start the vid again. If the concert is only about 20 minutes long and you restart the vid every thirty seconds x 40, good luck.

@Matanumi I work in pharmacy and unfortunately we have no music in the store. Now I have background music while I work thanks to these glasses. Plus the AI helps when I have to do math and I'm too lazy to grab a calculator 🤣

I didn’t hear you mention the on off switch on the inside of the left corner / hinge area of the glasses.
when paired to an iphone, if it’s able to use mics for calls and metas ai, is it able to trigger siri?
Do you think these could work under a motorcycle helmet or to record when you Mountainbike or ride a bicycle?
Cool audio love the spacial audio as my headphones use it and me stereo has atmos it really is the best surround sound

One video that I had to watch 3 or 4 others before I got what I wanted just from yours , lots of useful info answering most of my questions, it’s a bit weird how you want ANOTHER charging cable, just how many do you need, check around your home I’m sure you will find one, yep, good video 👍👍

I got these to take pov videos of my son ! The audio is fine I like them because in ear headphones always tend to bother me ! The meta assistant is pretty good you can pretty much ask it anything ! 1 con I wear hats and if you do it will show up in the videos !
Just got them, amazing stuff but 16:9 and longer record times would make this unbelievably handy. Stable with nice image and video quality. Battery life could be a little better. Pretty sure next iteration will resolve at least 2 out of these 3 !

I enjoyed your review. I just purchased a pair last night so I'm not super familiar with them. However you do seem more pleased about your glasses than I do. One topic that you didn't touch on very much was the live streaming. Please correct me if I'm wrong because I can't find it anywhere but I see you have to be connected through Wi-Fi to live stream. Well I like to do 5K walk/runs and I wanted to live stream them. Kind of hard to connect to a Wi-Fi if you're out and about on a run course. I can't find a way around this. I even tried to connect my phone's hotspot and it couldn't do that so I tried to connect my hotspot And my Wi-Fi and the app told me I had to shut off my hotspot. If you know a way around this please reply back to this. I really want to keep these glasses but as I see it right now they won't function the way that I want them to. Thank you in advance

I’m so sad 😢 I got mines just a few months ago and now they launched this version which is way better 🙁 I should’ve waited, but when I did my research they said there was not launch day yet or confirmation for the launch 😣

Are the lens visually enhanced like Oakley prism?
I compared them with standard wayfarers today and I was shocked how close they were to the standard frame.
I have them, the video quality is actually great!

Wow. These are sick. Too expensive though. Times have changed. That same exact pair of shades that have been around a long time has gone futuristic. Very cool.
Heavily disagree. I've worn glasses my whole life. Most glasses are anywhere from $200 to $500. Many are even more expensive than that and that's with no tech inside at all. Starting at $300 is actually a steal. I've never liked ray bans because I can't justify spending over $100 on sunglasses. But sunglasses that have cameras, speakers, and an AI inside? Absolutely.
@zeromech1450 Yup dude don't know what he's talking about. My current prescription Maui Jim's cost me $1000 polarized. $500 is NOTHING for what's built-in it will literally save me $500 to go smart glasses its a no-brainer.
Not a fan on my end of the polarized ones at night and indoors, so I picked up the Transitions version…about to open those up, but the hope is that at events and in the evening, I can still rock them to capture content!
I just bought the standard matte black frame + transition too. I think that’s the best colour and frame (I did go through the selection but they have additional price tags). However I can’t find if the clear transition lenses have anti UV on them.
Also, if the dark transition mode had polarised?
No transitions are polarized.

These remind me of Android version 1+ of software. Wait for Android version 4 or 6, by which time they'll have fixed all the bugs, incorporated landscape recording, lengthened battery life, price will have come down, etc. The old saying "you can tell the pioneers by the arrows on their backs" applies.

So do the designer frames solve the problems of having concealed cameras and microphones? Those issues sunk Google Glass. Privacy / legal / creepy. None of those problems are technical or cosmetic.
It’s funny how you went through this entire video, without mentioning the smart assistant feature of the glasses as well.
So they still arent recording in 16:9 format. It’s all vertical and Instagram format videos. It’s so weird they won’t unlock it. I can’t buy them . Already have 1st ones. Not going to get second one
Other than the increase from 5 mg to 12 for the cameras there is not a lot of difference.

Just so everyone knows these don't work when you are travelling to a foreign country because Meta only supports these in selected countries. So if you are a traveller these sunglasses and it's features are no good to you .. I learnt it the hard way after buying these in US and have them shipped to India and guess what they don't work

I recently went to a sunglass hut and asked specifically about this. The employee claimed that only the AI feature was restricted the supported countries. Are you saying he's incorrect then? I'm also curious about using a VPN as a workaround if anyone reading has tried for themselves
I bought rayban stories, just before the meda glasses came out. I retied and brought the glasses with me to the Philippines. It didn't even last 3 months. First, the audio stopped working, shortly after the video and the still shot camera. I bought the transition lens glass. It's just glasses now. Never abused or dropped them. Not very solid state tech.

I’m surprised you didn’t mention the AI features. According to Zuck, you can query meta’s Ai engine and ask it to translate a sign or what a landmark is.

Absolutely not a good option. It only works vertically, only after pushing a button, and only for 60 seconds.
I don't see an option to buy these with prescription lenses.
