- At B&H’s Optic 2018, photographer Keith Carter talks about myths, magic, and mojo. He believes that the best way to elevate your photography is to tell the truth as you know it through your photos, and he stresses that there are great lessons to be learned by revisiting history. We can learn a lot about how to shoot well - even in this digital age - by studying classic photos that pre-date digital photography.
He's that guy from the Artist Series! I saw that episode twice because I was so moved and inspired by it. Mr. Carter is an incredible artist and also seems like such an amazing human being. His attitude and curiosity about life is deeply inspiring and shows through his amazing work. He's like a living beacon of light! Beautiful talk and very intriguing and inspiring work.
I don't know where this was shot, but it could have been done in a private room. Keith deserves to share his incredible knowledge where there aren't people talking over him!
Thank you, Keith, for traveling from the Gulf Coast to NYC to share your story and your truth.
Didn't know Keith Carter... He seems to be a really interesting man, and his work (what I've just seen of it in this presentation) is quite powerful and subtle. Loved it!
This was a fantastic presentation -- thank you so much, Keith Carter, and happy (belated) birthday!
What an inspirational man and video (along with the other recent video on B&H); I could watch and listen to Mr Carter all day. This has taught me a lot and I will go out with his words in mind next and every time I go out to shoot.
"The truth reveals your soul." -J.E. Thanks Keith for the wonderful glimpse into yours.
A true artist.
Want to learn more about Keith Carter, on UA-cam, go to The Art of Photography Artist Series and view the 15 minute episode with Keith Carter by Ted Forbes. Ted also mentioned in one of his annual photography book picks of the year Keith’s book Uncertain to Blue. It is about small towns in Texas.
That's a good video too.
The word's which Mr. Keith Carter used to end his talk were the last words of his beloved wife. I learned that in Ted Forbes' episode. How touching is that?!
Loved the presentation, and this work is unique and charming.
Thank you! Such a deep, insightful, and inspirational presentation.
Awesome work and career....
Why are people talking in the background?
Excellente!!!
He's so good
The audience chatter is so damn annoying and seemingly disrespectful.
