Blame the media or radio today . You could have a silverchair, grinspoon or superjesus going on right now but radio is heavily skewed to rnb and trap. Even pop struggles .
@@bernyoz Well I guess you can't expect the hot 40's type stations to ever play ball, but you'd hope for JJJ at least to support rock, and they kind of do, but most music on JJJ these days seems to be "indie" which is now a genre of light pop with weak talent rather than a method of record distribution.. But I digress.. Radios just play what the people want to hear. If young Australians who liked music other than top 40s pop enjoyed rock then surely JJJ's catalogue and especially top 100 would reflect that given it is entirely user voted. Takes me back... I'll never forget the time I went to see Garbage at the Hordern in Sydney, not knowing who their support would be. Imagine how stoked I was when I heard these guys doing soundcheck as I rocked up! Such an awesome gig that night!

Back when I was 21 and dreamed about LIVID fesitival every year..... So glad I got to be 20 in 1999 and when music was at it's peak. Silverchair, Frenzl, tool, garbage, Powder, Regurg, Grinspoon.... Urgh, too hard to dream.

That moment of wonder happened tonight driving down the highway as I was listening to the radio and talking to my dog to keep him company - that stopped when this came on and he was schooled with this banger.
I just came here to say, after so long, I still love this song so much but particularly those chords at the end. I wish they lasted longer. I'm always rewinding the last 30 seconds haha. It's just a beautiful sound.
Still hanging onto the past myself. Sarah McLeod was awesome. Off to watch magic dirt, meanies, hard ons, splatterheads and nursery crimes vids...see ya there!
This band was actually sick live. They were just heavy enough to mosh to but not so heavy that the crowd packed in too hard. I just remember jumping up and down really high and everyone else was too.
Saw em open for Local H in Atlanta probably around this time. Saw Ammonia open for Silverchair a year or 2 prior as well. Quite the Aussie pipeline back then. Oh 90s... I'd go back in a second if I could though.

Wow, Australia had so many good bands in the 90s.
They had good bands in the 00's. We don't support rock n roll in Australia for some reason.

No. Don't. It would be ruined by crazy leftards.
And the "walkman"
@@AH-zd5ge did you walk? Man? 😀 , sorry I had to 🤣
But what would it be like today? Would it have the same magic as it did in the 90s? What bands would be on it? Dylan is on double j theses days!

That's because music is shit these days (and over-politicised)
We lost the ability to see magic in everything. Now its about what others think about us before it was what makes Me or Us happy.

The Superjesus were so awesome - I saw them many times in the 90s.
Feeling so much nostalgia right now! Totally miss 90’s and early 2000’s music when it was actually good and not manufactured shit
Best era in Australian music...So many awesome bands and none of them made it big like they should've...

Yes. Good times. I saw them in the orient less then 10 people. The following year they were playing livid
Saw them open for Local H in ATL...jeez, years ago.
Was enthralled; still am.
Amazing group!
AMAZING! What happened to these guys? They never lasted too long, and what the fucking fuck happened to this kind of MUSIC????
so impressed by how tight they are live. amazing. love the drummer too
25 years now, and STILL one of my favourite ever!
I was WAY in to this kind of music around 99-2002 but I never came across this. Might as well be a brand new song to me. :)
Agree, I was across it all at the time and this is a first for me!

I've loved this song since I first heard it "back in the day" and just realised its about depression.

Fuck, old mate on the lead guitar is seeing stars and out of tune, no wonder they kept looking at him XD It's a miracle he made the solo work.

Where is Dylan? He was the best the host ever his charisma was amazing. The ABC really fucked up when they canned this show.
You can tell they were just recording because they had it all down.
@Sarah Mcleod my first secret crush apart from my sister and her sister and my other sister. Yes, that is all.
Such a good band, if it wasn't for her voice. If they had Suzi Dimarci from Baby Animals, they'd be so much better.

Are you sure the drum riser is high enough? How does one tell if the drum riser is even??
Theres drool coming out of BOTH sides of the drummers mouth!
