Glory Days (Central TV) - Wolves 1980 League Cup Winners

'Glory Days' was an eight part series broadcast on Central Television in 2008. Presented by Stan Collymore, each 30 minute show concentrated on one Midlands based club and highlighted some of their finest achievements. Clips from matches were combined with interviews with certain players involved in their club's success.
With regard to Wolves, 'Glory Days' focussed on their 1974 and 1980 League Cup victories over Manchester City and Nottingham Forest respectively. Unfortunately, the uploaded footage is of the 1980 success only.
Former players Geoff Palmer, Andy Gray, Willie Carr, John Richards, Kenny Hibbitt and Mel Eves, in addition to manager John Barnwell, are all interviewed and offer their recollection of their League Cup Final defeat of Forest at Wembley on 15th March 1980.

I was still a teenager when I went to this game. Amazing atmosphere Wolves fans outnumbered Forest fans by a long way. We were even in their end that day. Great days and memories. Brian Clough said it was the Wolves fans that won it for them that day. Football was different then more enjoyable. The atmosphere in the stadiums. It also reminds me of the friends I have lost who I used to go to the Wolves with in those days. Wolves ay we.

Fantastic!! I was 15 years old and it was my first taste of Wembley. When Andy put that ball in the net I remember screaming at the top of my voice and the noise was so great I for the first time ever I remember I could not hear my own voice!!
In March this year I had the pleasure of meeting the team and having me photograph taken with me holding the Cup-a night to remember and a day that will be close to my heart forever. Thank You so much for posting this :-)

I went with my late dad,,,,forest fans all over outside but omg ! Inside rambled with wolves fans,,,what an atmosphere,,,the lads were awesome,,,Kenny hobbit and John Richards my favourites 😊😊😊😊😊coyw
