We saw these guys in a tiny pavilion in rural Minnesota in 1966 with Beck, his last tour with the band. WOW!
Jeff is the best guitarist of the big 3, by a long shot..and that is for sure.
And he's still the best. He doesn't stop evolving, man, he keeps growing, working on new, fresh material...he's just so talented. He is always playing with the best musicians. His band(s) - are always top notch.
He has the sweetest, most exquisite, warm, tastiest tone I've ever heard. And the raunchiest sounds, too - crunchiest, dive bombing, big-throated, screaming sounds. He is just a flat out all-around Superb Electric Guitarist..and totally unique.
I've been listening to him regularly since his Yardbird days, and still to this day, I listen to him all the time. I've got every record he ever released. He's the master.
William L. Beck is one of the top guitarists...but Peter Green...👍
@William L.
Definitely like Beck then Clapton. Beck is a true musician that enjoys pleasing his audience.
Jeff has always been the epitome of cool to me.
I recently watched the Eric Clapton documentary "A Life In 12 Bars". Somebody needs to do a similar documentary on Jeff Beck. His story and him as a man are both fascinating. As one of the greatest guitar players of his and any generation the man deserves a decent testament to his talent.
thanks for this posting,great to hear the background of the yardbirds straight from the horse's mouth.I was a fan of theirs and have always been a fan of jeff so this for me was cool!!
You don't get to seeTheYardbirds history from Jeff Beck's perspective too often. It looks like this is from a
Yardbirds video put out some years ago. I hope to find it on DVD some day. Hell, I'll settle for a pre-owned copy on VHS!
His cou-de-gra album. "blow by blow" was what really got me into his style of work.
Rare to see Jeff Beck playing a guitar with a pick... BTW IMO Jeff Beck is the GOAT when it comes to guitar players.
This was great!!! I was checkin out Beck's Bolero and came across this...
Thanks for the post...
thanks for this posting!
He's my hero~
How I loved those guys when I was 14!
Paul Samwell Smith is playing a Danelectro long horn bass. The masonite wonder. Now that I own one I'm seeing them in the hands of many big time players.
Jeff Beck liked to stay a free agent..his nickname is FLASH...👌
🎸🌹
Jeff’s lack of armpit hair probably keeps body odor down when he restores those vintage cars.
Jeff Beck was drafted into playing with The Yardbirds upon recommendation from his pal Jimmy Paige. Soon after Paige joined and together they made The Yardbirds great and history was being made!!!
@Baz10
Yea. Beck certainly tops my list and so many here on UA-cam. Cheers. Peace. Happy Holidays and the very best in the New Year.
Interview looks to be from about 1984 or so.
Jeff Becks a working class kid with a lot of guts. Thats rare these days. The "management" wantet to cheat the Yardbirds outa money - he was the only one of the nice guys who told them to deliever what the bosses signed for or else....they payed!
and smog lol
I mean, this is some S*it, C'mon Beck was & is JEFF BECK
The Jeff Beck Era was the best the Yardbirds ever got.
