The split jumps out of Raisman tumbling passes really gave her an edge largely on difficulty. Too bad because this routine was much more enjoyable and artistic than Raismans
@@SquirtlePower809 the execution scores for Raisman and Ponor were nearly identical. I think it was Raisman 9.1 to Ponor 9.0 (from memory, you can double check). Point is there execution was very close
@darklight1030 I can certainly go back and check out of curiosity what the E scores were. But we also need to talk about how the Code was being enforced at this time, and let's be real-- they were really generous about form and execution on floor especially. And outside of scoring-- I know you can CLEARLY see a major difference in form and execution between these two routines? Take it pass by pass and you will find many and sometimes major issues from Ponor (her twisting for example would get badly deducted today). So, it's totally fine for you, or anyone else, to enjoy Ponors routine more, and even prefer it! But, as gymnastics fans we also have to be somewhat objective at times and recognize when someone truly has outperformed another. This is one of the cases. I mean, it's not even close for me and I am very confident if you asked 100 professional coaches or judges to watch them again- Raisman would easily still take Gold.
@@SquirtlePower809 first, what were the E scores? Second, I'm well aware of the terrible form in the triple twist, third, Raisman artistry is like an iceberg, fourth Raisman doesn't have same flexibility and split leaps as Ponor. That's why there E scores were pretty close. More than just tumbling. Maybe we should listen to professional judges who are scoring the routines some too, if they put E score similar then may be a good reason for it. I hear what you're saying about Raisman tumbling, though she had weak form on her Arabian pike
Her D Score didn't come from split jumps, LMAO- she only had two dance elements out of her passes (one from the piked double arabian, and one from the double back pike). Her connection values came from her MASSIVE opening tumbling pass: 1.5 twist step-out + double Arabian tucked + punch front layout -> C + E (indirect), E + B (direct) for a massive 0.4 in connection value during the 2012 CoP. 0.4 of connection bonus for ONE tumbling pass is INSANE and incredibly impressive. There is a reason when she came back in the next code (when the +0.1 for split jumps out of passes was eliminated) she kept that pass. That pass alone is worth more in D Score than Simone Biles's opening pass in 2021: a triple-twisting double back. (1.2 vs 0.9) Reducing Raisman's start value in 2012 to the +0.2 she got from leaps is ignorant- you're thinking of Lauren Mitchell for that one. LOL. Even without those leaps, she would still have had a 0.1 higher D Score (6.3) than Ponor (6.2) did in FX Finals.
Effortlessly stuck landings and so much power. Love this gymnast.
Adoro o estilo dela.

I never realized how bad her form was. This floor routine is great, nonetheless
Disagree wholeheartedly. Her landings were awesome, her triple twist was always messy. But big picture, she was a boss.
??? The legs came slightly apart on the triple twist but apart from that every thing else was fine. I think you are being a bit harsh.
