I think all these piggies are beautiful and couldn't make up my mind which I love because I love them all. Amazing how they don't move just freeze in the position they're in.
Selfs are a very special breed, they are trained to stand like that, it’s takes a lot of effort but then they are relaxed and are not scared of load noises or things moving around them
I find it really weird that each color is considered a breed. That's like saying a black lab and a yellow lab are each their own breed. They're just different colors of the same breed.... I personally don't like breeding like to like (gold to gold, cream to cream, etc) for my projects. I can see why people would for shows, but I prefer rainbow litters.
Hi Anna, you are completely correct the breed is a self and each colour is a variation, I should have used the word colour rather than breed in the intro, you can be a breeder of a specific colour. The way you produce creams consistently is by using a buff to a white so that might be a breed for you, would love to see some pictures of your cavies, the rainbow ones always look gorgeous

Amazing video!!! Very underrated!
I love this ❤. My favourites are self chocolate (i had a few), saffron and lilac. They're beautiful 😻
Aww thanks, I used to breed self chocolates too, they are a very nice looking guinea pig. Do you breed anything now?
@@guineapigswithgreg4575 no, not at the moment
@@Catclovers ah so some point in the future maybe?
@@guineapigswithgreg4575 yes I think so
Great Video Greg, 😁
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for this video! I really like self cavies. My favourites are white, cream and buff.
Ooh I have other videos on y channel all about the pink eyed cream and pink eyed white which you might enjoy 🥰
@@guineapigswithgreg4575 🤩
thanks a lot for the video. How good that there is your channel and that you do not leave this job
Thanks Anna, glad you are enjoying the videos 😊
Would it be easy to go to a pet store and buy one of these special piggies or go through a breeder?
I would always go to a breeder !
How much would a Show standard Self cost?
In the Uk auctions I have seen the best ones go for £500 a pair, but usually you can get a showable cavy for £30
please tell me why exactly golden pigs differ so much in their appearance? How and why did this happen to them? Who worked on it the most?
Thank that might be a video all on its own, popular breeds tend to have bigger gene pools and more competition to push the breed/ colour forward
Os bichinhos parecem um cupuaçu
Thanks
