Emperor Machine (aka Andrew Meecham, the mastermind behind Bizarre Inc and Chicken Lips) is about to slap you silly with his upcoming album, Island Boogie. But fear not, funky friends, because to hold you over until the full release, Leng Records has served up a piping hot plate of remixes and dubs to whet your whistle. It kicks off with a killer interpretation of the title track, 'Devoilez-Vous,' by T-Kutt (Meecham's old production partner Dean Meredith and his studio buddy Ben Shenton). Their 'AM FM Club Mix' is a funky fusion of classic electrofunk, early house, and NYC proto-house. Think chopped-up vocals that weave around bright keyboard riffs and pulsating synths, all drizzled with spacey delays and a driving bassline that will have you shaking your booty like it's 1985. Check out Leng co-founder Mudd (aka Paul Murphy) with a remix of "Island Boogie," spacey synths and smooth, laid-back grooves on overdrive, splashed with funky clavinet licks and trippy solos that will have you lost in the music.
