Why didn’t you mention Ondo? An Electricity Regulatory Bureau has existed in Ondo since 2020. They were part of the first 4 states to get autonomy. Lagos and Oyo don’t even have full autonomy yet. Please the great work going on in Ondo.

We acknowledge the great work being done in Ondo State. We are stakeholders in the enormous power transformation going on courtesy of the HE Aiyedatiwa and have invited the Coordinator of the Electricity Regulatory Bureau Eng. Bolawole to be a part of our Fireside Chat. Watch out.

    These DISCOs.
    Who are their auditors?
What are our Senators doing? Oversight?

Since 2013, the Discos have operated as private entities, albeit under the regulatory oversight of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), which determines pricing, consumer protection, and other critical parameters. The government has also extended support through various CBN financing loans aimed at enhancing their business operations. Nonetheless, as noted by the speaker, the Discos must establish robust structures to achieve profitability and attract further investment to enhance their overall operations.
