We can never repay them .. I only wish they knew just what they achieved...without these incredible young Americans, my 3 children.. my 3 grandchildren, my wife and myself would'nt even exist
They are not the original fox holes as the forest has been harvested 3 times since. They were formed by reenactors in similar positions but not the same. The forest is too young.

Par contre en 80 ans , impossible que le les souches d'origines soit toujours visibles. Une souche de sapin se décompose assez rapidement en pleine terre .
@@strike8816 - the foxholes certainly are not the same as 80 years ago, but the location is the same. The holes have been maintained by the museum (removing debris, mud,etc. ). Some stumps, I am told, are original. But I am no expert, and it really doesn’t matter to honor those that died here.

Parts of the forest were harvested, but care was taken for this area according to the local authorities.
