I remember Mandrake/Mandriva well. It was one of the first distribution I ever tried as a kid. It was distributed on a CD in some PC magazines :D cool video

Even though I sometimes have trouble with the accent, I must say I enjoy your content and the fact that you actually install and test everything you talk about. Some people I watch on UA-cam will just install a distro and talk a lot about it, but I wonder how much they really test it. Cudos, and I look forward to you videos. :)

arrrgggg Mandriva - Mandrake, one of my first linux uses, i'm getting old, lol
If i have trouble with linux mint i can look things in both ubuntu or debian forum. I'm wondering where can i find more documentation if i ever got stuck on something in mageia?

Mageia is very interesting, it seems they use a relatively new Kernel. Is it possible to integrate the Fedora Repo or Packages to Mageia?
I tried Mandrake at the beginning, several times, and switched to Debain bacause Mandrake was not solid. I encountered a lot of issues, a lack of hardware support. Debian was more advanced, offering more dynamic as being more stable with more choices. SuSE was also superior to Mandrake. After several bad expenreinces Mandrake, and derivatives, became and stayed a no go for me.
I loved Mandrake.
Loved Mandrake. Started with RH but had problems installing LILO. Had to boot on a floppy disk and then choose the OS. Mandrake fixed the problem.
Never tried it again since then.
I have never tried mandrake/mandriva or mageia. I have almost tried almost everything. But not these distro. I couldn't rely on only flatpaks or snaps for applications.

Mageia has no VAAPI support on VLC.
There is. But only with flatpak.
@@Vinceff • Yeah. Flatpak version has it. If you count that then all distros have it. I was talking about the system package.

Do you serve some frog legs with it 🤔? Seriously, all of these distros, yet because of the terminal, we'll most likely see a polished up enough Android x86 take advantage of Microsoft doing absolutely everything, to make the normal PC user finally ditch Windows. The average Brenda comes back home beat and tired, after hours of traffic from her 9 to 5 at the hair saloon of nasty, entitled costumers, and will sooner settle for Mac, than be searching online how to fix a faulty app installment through the Linux terminal, because there's no other way to fix even such simple problems on Linux. The terminal is like the engine under the hood for the mechanic, when the average Honda driver just wants to see the shiny hood, with everything running tip top ☺️. It's doable. Android proved it.
Yaaaaay, another Linux distribution, we don’t have enough of them. I feel like it is a lot of wasted energy which could be put into exciting ones.
