Excellent teaching..on contentment..its assuring to know that Paul himself did not learn the fullness of contentment until later in his life..i have walked with God 20 years and just learning the secret of contentment...and this pastor is spot on..3 of the major keys in this secret is definitely REST, ( NOT BY OUR WORKS) and Knowing the LOVE of God...and complete surrender...
I am a believer, but I experienced Financial blessing and an awesome job and got to move to Chicago and ended up becoming very successful. Was able to become financially free by real estate. A few bad moves and I lost everything and I cannot seem to recover from depression. I compare where i live and NOTHING compares. I am miserable. God seems far away too. I made a MISTAKE, but was that God's Plan?

I know at times it can feel that God is too far away but in Joshua 1:9 we are told to be strong and of good courage and not to be afraid, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. A few verse before that we are told that He will never leave you nor forsake you. I do know that sometimes we can feel that we just made a mess of things but in 1 John 1:9 we are told that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I know that the Lord is with me at all times. I believe it with all my heart. But.. I forget this and don’t know how to keep in my mind. K
