I'm a novice on this whole MPC / protools technology. When searching out tutorials on how to export from the MPC to protools, yours was the one that made it understandable for me. That's a good look!
I know I'm late but you can separate the drums. First build it up on one track then go to Edit>Track>Explode and it will separate the drums for you. I hope it helps
After you made tracks like kick and snare or whatever else on same track just "EXPLODE" the track. That will do exactly what it's called -explode all instruments onto separate tracks for situations just like this. Hope this helps. FYI, Explode is a MPC Software 1.8 update feature..among many others.
DL - This was nice! I have been looking for how to do this for a while. If you remember a while back I commented that your demo were the strong point. I kind of strayed away after the MPC v. New Maschine piece. I'm back on you....Thanks. Grim
@djizzle407 no you can not record vocals on a track wile your placing a beat. Have you ever recorded anyone like in protools? That's what we're talking about
Great video! Is there a way of send out of the MPC into Protools in real time? So, I would have a session open in my MPC and just set the ins on ProTools. Sync the MPC and Protools via Midi Beat clock and then just hit record on Protools. That would also be great!
Yeah, I thought I'd be able to record my audio tracks straight into the MPC software before I got the Renaissance since it's an audio interface also. This really messes up my work flow because I have hardware synths synced to the MPC. It would definitely be nice to lay the audio and midi and export but Akai had to screw that up for us.
Thanks man. After you've transferred the files from the MPC to Pro Tools...will it be quantized to the tempo set on Pro Tools or do you have to lock it in by sight
YOU CAN SEPARATE THE PADS ON THE MPC AND HAVE EACH PAD ON IT'S OWN TRACK IN PRO TOOLS...YOU CAN HAVE UP TO 16 TRACKS THAT WAY...YOU CREATE A TEMPLATE IN PT THAT'S LINK TO YOUR MPC AND IN THE MPC MIXER PAN PAD 1 LEFT...PAD 2 RIGHT 3 LEFT...4 RIGHT..ETC...UNTIL YOU HAVE 16...ONLY THING IS...YOU WILL HAVE TO SEQUENCE AND TRACK OUT IN PROTOOLS LIVE.....
Bro I thought the same thing with vocals that's crazy am with you on that bro. I got a question for you how do you record the Renaissance as midi in Protools try it but it's not recording in Protools? I got the express version of Protools.
Good tutorial! How about that tail issue while exporting to separate tracks.. My question is, as for now, if i use for example heavy reverbs or delays on my track in mpc and export as waves, they don't play/sound right/with any tail in pro tools.. So when i try to build a song in pro tools using 8 bar loop, those reverb/delay tails are clipping after every 8 bars and it sounds terrible. Help me out her please... Peace.
Question: No matter which DAW used, is there a way to export the tempo/bpm data with the track export function? Sometimes I also use my Tascam 2488 Neo to record the artist when I am on the go, and don't trust when others don't do virus maintenance on the DAW computers. Else, that would be many tempo change points I'd have to code by hand in DAW or Tascam. Thanks in advance.
I know that Presonus studio one has afeature called explode to tracks which seperates a sounds if they are played on one track. I believe this is the name of the feature. see if protools have a similar feature.
for some reason when i track out my song like you showed me in this video and i play the seq. back myself its all messed up like the cords get twisted or something. what iam i doing wrong? i have 3 seq. intro, hook, verse and i use massive as a plug in.
Yea sell your mpc...and get the NI machine cuz dem shits suck...but the way to fix that is its putting everything on the same track so lets say on ur 1 seq you have 10 tracks...on your 2 nd seq start at number 11 and lets say that has 3 tracks...so ur 3 seq start on 14 and so on and it wont get messed up Calvin Tillman
This was helpful but when I opened up the tracked out version in pro tools the waves didnt play like a beat, they just played all at once like random sounds.
I'm exporting tracks and timing is perfect in mpc everything on different tracks I export load into any daw I'm using track timing is everywhere kicks playing late pianos early but the funny thing is when i export wav or mp3 its good I'm stuck you can help out?
Inability to separate pads is my I converted to Maschine. That makes no damn sense at all. Thanks for the info though! I was trying to get mack into my MPC's but with out that....
i imported a beat from my mpc renaissance to pro tools why dose it change the playback speed even though i change the tempo on pro tools it still plays fast
The problem is when I export beats into ProTools Express, the software pitch up my beats... But it's ok with ProTools 11. Does anyone has the same problem and how to fix it?
thats what happens when you put more then 1 instrument on 1 track dummy...... if you knew how to make beats then youd know you wouldnt need to be wishing for the ren to have a "option".. you should NOT have kick and snare on same track, talking about "beats ready" lol!!! how you expect someone to mix that 😂😂😂
Corey Drums Corey Drums Another way is opening MPC as a plugin in Pro Tools and routing individual drum sounds out of the MPC to separate tracks in Pro Tools and track and record the whole song. You retain the most control this way if you need to change the sequence or add a sound, etc. Most importantly monitor levels in real time. I find this to be the most versatile option when tracking in PT whether you will be giving the session for someone else to record and mix of if you're handling all the engineering duties. Like the tape-based days. Sequence in MPC and print to tape from your 8 outs.

No problem any time you need anything just hit me up
Nice video. Straight to the point, no long talk. The way tutorials should be.
After a year of owning my MPC studio I finally am figuring things out. This video has saved me a ton of time. Big up DL. Thank you.
I know I'm late but you can separate the drums. First build it up on one track then go to Edit>Track>Explode and it will separate the drums for you. I hope it helps
That would be make the software so much more complete to be able to record vocals in the mpc software.Thumbs up!
ive been watching your vids all evening..u r the man ..thanks
Great Tutorial... I come from da 2000XL where everything wuz mo analog, now wit Thiz I can export like nothin'

Thank you!! That I second thing that you said to switch to 0 so there is no tail end saved my from a big headache! I'm now a subscriber. Big ups!
Hence MPC X sir. I think Akai listened to you sir. Great video 👍🏿
you made it waaaaaaay more complicated than it really is.i subscribed. but you made it harder then it has to be.

This was great. Thank you. And yes if we could record vocals or any live track on the ren it would be amazing

Did Akai ever add your idea about separating pads as tracks into mpc 2.0?
Good tutorial! How about that tail issue while exporting to separate tracks.. What's good Fam. I'm running the latest version of MPC Essentials. When I export I do not have a check box for separate tracks. Any ideas?
SimFBallCritic it should say explode

Can you use this same method with logic pro x. I have the mpc studio
hey DL, there isn't really any mastering options or plug ins within mpc software hey? that would be for exporting to PT ?
Great video
I know that Presonus studio one has afeature called explode to tracks which seperates a sounds if they are played on one track. I believe this is the name of the feature. see if protools have a similar feature.
Yes just use the MPC as a vst in pro tools
for some reason when i track out my song like you showed me in this video and i play the seq. back myself its all messed up like the cords get twisted or something. what iam i doing wrong? i have 3 seq. intro, hook, verse and i use massive as a plug in.
AytotheM M. Im having this same problem with logic x when I do this. Did you come up with a solution?
Yea sell your mpc...and get the NI machine cuz dem shits suck...but the way to fix that is its putting everything on the same track so lets say on ur 1 seq you have 10 tracks...on your 2 nd seq start at number 11 and lets say that has 3 tracks...so ur 3 seq start on 14 and so on and it wont get messed up Calvin Tillman

Nice blessing 🙌
This was helpful but when I opened up the tracked out version in pro tools the waves didnt play like a beat, they just played all at once like random sounds.

very god videos dude. Subbed!

I was trying to get mack into my MPC's but with out that....
you can record in it just plug ya mic in i even done that with my roland mv

YOOOOOO D what about hte tempo does it matter if it matches or not??
are the mpc ren/studio trackouts universal with other daw's.
You can record vocals
thanks bro!
The problem is when I export beats into ProTools Express, the software pitch up my beats... But it's ok with ProTools 11. Does anyone has the same problem and how to fix it?

Akai makes you track that shit out to dump in your daw like you have a mpc 3000 and some adats.
all you have to do is explode the track with the drums and it will track it out for you.

Get the Mpc X
That's to old school for me
samuel jackson
This shit is so easy to do in the Maschine. This shit seems like a headache
thats what happens when you put more then 1 instrument on 1 track dummy...... if you knew how to make beats then youd know you wouldnt need to be wishing for the ren to have a "option".. you should NOT have kick and snare on same track, talking about "beats ready" lol!!! how you expect someone to mix that 😂😂😂
