Using a coat or to of gesso before your base coat of color will help to avoid the rocks drinking in the color and make your colors pop moe

Savanna Renn wouldn’t white chalk paint or primer do the same thing. Or just white base coat period? Thanks I’ve always wondered this.

Did you wash or treat your rocks prior to painting?

I just rinse them under warm water and brush off any dust or dirt.

Love this ! Can this be sprayed to make colors pop out more? I would think they would be so pretty as Christmas gifts & being sprayed!

Fantastic! You made this super easy to learn, I will be using this technique for a snowman's vest, not a rock!

This is so helpful! I have bought a pair of shoes and am learning to customize them and thought this would be a cool design.

The last squares that you painted black, I would have used a paint pen…just my patience to sit still that long..I’d end up doing the wiggle dance in my chair and mess the lines up with a brush 😂

What ever works best for you!! I love to use paint pens and my lines would have looked better with them too 😊
