Lyrics
You can put your clothes back on
She’s leaving you
No time to apologize for the
Things you do
Go rent a Ferrari
And sing the blues
Believe that Clapton was the second coming
It falls apart
We all got work to do
It gets dark
We all got work to do
She’s leaving you
She’s leaving you
You said
“Vegas is beautiful at night”
And it’s not about the money
You just like the lights
And though you know what is implied when
Your room is free
You’re feeling lucky
It falls apart
We all got work to do
It gets dark
We all got work to do
She’s leaving you
She’s leaving you

I heard that MJ Lenderman's shows are filled with tons of middle-aged guys.I'm a middle-aged guy, and I want to follow MJ around the country. I'm a Lenderhead.
Love it!!! I’m right there with you 😅
i was so surprised at how old the crowd was when i saw him in dc
hell yeah brother
is this why the older guy is jamming with his air guitar while everyone else is giving thumbs down? 😂
I heard that too
This song slaps. This album is going to slap. Rock n roll is here to slay
I love you Michael Jackson Lenderman
Michael Jordan* haven't you listened to Hangover Game
@@zacstaffiere Marc Jacobs Lenderman for true fans
🐐
MJ Lenderman doesn’t even wear a high school jacket
The Pete & Pete energy in this video is strong. Love it.
I have it on authority that Artie, Strongest Man in World thrashes his quads to this ish.
"we all got work to do" is already stuck in my head
Lenderman is probably the young artist that I’m most excited about. Great albums so far and that live record was phenomenal. Really looking forward to this new release.
Still can't believe he didn't release the live album as a vinyl
I'm a senior citizen and this is so powerfully good. Thank you so much MJ Lenderman for your songs it makes me feel young again.
Same
Aw hell yeah, baby! Alpha white male boomers-this is our time to shine! We’re out here in 2024, and guess what? Rock ‘n’ Roll ain’t dead, not by a long shot! Let’s blow the dust off those leather jackets, tell the second wives to hit the road, ghost those ungrateful grandkids, and hit the open highway! We’re starting a band, and we’re gonna tour this damn country on the backs of our social security checks! Who’s with me? We’re gonna show these youngsters what real rock legends look like-one dive bar at a time!
Yes! I am only 61, but I feel 21 when I hear this!
reminds me of Pine Grove and Pavement. This is good music.
Pinegrove singing and the music sounds like a GBV song, for me
I hear this song on Sirius XMU all the time and I love it! And the music video is super fun, thanks MJ 👍
Reminds me of Uncle Tupelo! Great song!!!!
Same ❤
Says the piano is played by Alex Farrar. I wonder if they’re related to Jay.
had the exact same thought!
@@samgriebel5616 If they are that would be interesting, because he is a close friend and collaborator with Jeff Tweedy's son
@@samgriebel5616No Jay's sons name is Ethan
everyone involved in this deserves some serious love. mj wrote a crazy good song and is snapping. alex got this sounding so damn crispy. karly absolutely shines. her finishing the song leaves you wanting so much more. excited for the album. keep doing y'alls thing!
also to the video crew you guys are amazing.. clay + whitmer + sophia + wilson + trent
IT FALLS APART WE ALL GOT WORK TO DO
Loving what I'm hearing. Reminds me of Ben Kweller's first album
Open up youtube to a new MJ tune? gonna be a good day
songs been stuck in my head all week
Hearing a lot of Pavement and Ben Kweller influence. Even a little bit of Neil. Sounds great!
That's a fantastic description. His voice definitely reminds me of Kweller. And I definitely hear some Neil and Pavement in there
I hear more Songs Ohia (jason molina) with Pavement and Darrin Bradbury thrown in.
The Voice it encapsulates the world we are given in these times
Meet the new king of alt-country. MJ Lenderman's Manning Fireworks is a gritty, guitar-driven masterpiece that’s equal parts Neil Young and Warren Zevon. With his signature blend of humor and heart, Lenderman delivers a record that’s both deeply personal and universally relatable. From the opening track to the final note, this album is a rollercoaster ride of emotions
Another great one, Jake. So, so glad you're getting all the love you're getting now; you're my favorite artist of the past few years and it's not close.
Great tune. Almost has an early Uncle Tupelo vibe. Looking forward to the album.
Reminds me of some old my morning jacket ep I listened to back in the day.
MJ Lenderman forever!
that's a surprisingly good song omg
As a songwriter, I often fall into the trap of feeling like I have to write always more lyrics for a song to truly be complete. You reminded me that, no, a few heart punching lyrics can do. Great song! 👍
Same.
Did any one ever get that grill out of the rain?
Man... just.... thank you..
MJ wins again 🏆
And if you make it to Melbourne, Australia, consider a trip to the Mornington Peninsula. For brunch. On us. Southern style.
anyone else hear the jay farrar influence (son volt, uncle tupelo)? Loving ittttt
Check the description for who plays piano/mixed/recorded this one. I wonder if there’s a relation.
absolutely! first thing I heard
Yep
MJ simply doesn’t miss
would y’all consider this boot-gaze??
More alt country like sun volt or uncle tupelo meets pavement
@@michaelskurski912 exactly!
NeilYoungcore
i've been calling Wednesday boot-gaze for so long
with some cowpunk
She's leaving you...Fantastic
excellent production
Love it.
Quality! 👊🏼💥
badass rock 4 badass boys
What a tune. Reminds me so much of Ben Kweller, mid 90s sound. Awesome
MJ is straight awesome!!!!
I love this song so much already... not sure why. Maybe all the different relationships I had.
This is the best new rock song I've heard in a very long time.
Getting your ex-girlfriend to sing "She's leaving you" in your music video is real David Berman getting ex-wife to star in "Darkness and Cold" video energy
I don't think they broke up.
Or "Shoot Out the Lights" where you make your entire divorce album with the person you're divorcing
Or "Don't" where you make your bandmate who you're falling out with scream "Why don't you like me?" over and over. (Dinosaur Jr.)
Very good man. Very good. I appreciate you.
Love those licks
loved it live when i got to see mj back in feb love it even more now i can listen to it on repeat 🥰🥰
Like what I'm hearing.
Looky here! I was sayin to my old self I need to vibe on some MJ . Maybe a new track....and whalah. Who could this be about?
sounds like he’s talking about a Dad having a midlife crisis
Silversun Pickups vibe ❤ thank you..amazing
bros still cooking
insaaaane production quality, music is all right too
shoutout to the king
It falls apart, we all got work to do
It gets dark, we all got work to do
Nice work mate. Congrats to all involved. Peace.
MJ I think the 90's somehow messed up but welcome to the mid 2020's bro loving this sheiiiiittt
Can’t wait for the album!!!!
we love these kids
Get big whiskeytown and his voice reminds me of dismemberment plan
Really enjoying this!
Fricken yeah man
That solo buddy
This is Sha Sha the sequel I love this shit so much
hell yeah
he don't miss
Super good.
11 times now
His voice reminds me of the song of the Pavement.
The talent show host looks like the principal from Hey Arnold
Menderman Jenderman Lenderman ☺️
Love this tune but it’s the Traveling Wilburys “handle me with care” at half speed.
We are so back, Lendermen
chorus bassline / chord progression just breaks my heart good grief
and i got a wristwatch ❤
dude sings like Ben Folds 👍
Ben Kweller looks different
Ben Kweller vibezzzzzz
good job Ben Kweller Lenderman
Incredible song as always! I hope the hex the evil wizard put on Xandy wont keep him from touring! 😂
let's f*cking go
very good jake
A 90s Neal Young
we're so back
Neil Young is proud of you
Does anyone know which guitar MJ is playing in this video?
Do you do weddings
He sounds exactly like that guy who went solo but was in a bigger band before. In 2003~.
I thought this was Ben Folds Five the first time I heard it.
i love this grunge weezer group
Kinda reminds me of dinosaur jr but a little more twangy.
tapped into Dinosaur Jr , sounds grrrrrreat!
gostei
"I got dumped" song
Nice Jokerman font
Jeremy Mountains
Felix White sent me here
is that dream on the thumbnail
Don't understand the visuals. But love the music. And showcasing your ex-girlfriend, Karly Hartzman of another band you play for, Wednesday, is a hoot. Where was Katie Crutchfield of Waxahatchee? Must've been busy... Hope to see her in your next video!
tim heidecker brought me here.
my fiancee just left me and i am in a deep, deep depression - i guess i will take up juggling
Alex G needs to call a Lawyer.
alex g sounds nothing like this
@@ajv1437 well alex g has more diversity in his sound, but this is incredibly reminiscent of much of his more guitar led stuff. Incredibly similar vocal delivery, similar melodic choices, and the guitar chords.
@@HmmInteresting478 r u on acid alex g has never sounded like this
ill-timed with my new divorce in terms of subject matter but I'm here for it
Its 1994 again! THANK GOD. Nice work everyone. Love it.
That's exactly the year I was thinking
You mean 1984.
@@themarinelayermusic6469 You mean 1974.
@@themarinelayermusic6469 Nah, this song has a lot in common with Better Than Ezra's "Good," Our Lady Peace's "Clumsy," and others of that 1995-1997 time period.
He’s from Asheville, so for Archers of Loaf’s sake we’ll say 1994.
