Man I don’t know where to begin. Honestly big EM fan politics aside. But the double entendres I felt were shallow for a political point. Lots of facts were wrong in this song especially if you talk to Vegas residents as myself. If it was to bring awareness to gun violence it would of included other cities which I won’t bring up but your aware of. This was just a 2nd amendment hit job. Godzilla was fire tho and shag dats tuff. Keep up the good job.
I love how his saying if you do nothing then yall gonna be too scared to gather for my show, and how his letting us know that when he sees a lite crowd he blames himsrlf, when he takes a step back he realises that people dont want to gather in groups anymore.
I haven’t seen anyone comment on the bars: “feels like I’m loathing in Las Vegas, haven’t got the VAGUEST (vegas) why I’m so LOST (las) flippin the word play y’all!!
You missed that loathing is a reference to fear and loathing in Las Vegas a movie about doing drugs in Vegas. Also potentially vaguest was a triple entendre with vagus nerve ( Visceral feelings and gut instincts are literally emotional intuitions transferred up to your brain via the vagus nerve. In previous studies, signals from the vagus nerve traveling from the gut to the brain have been linked to modulating mood and distinctive types of fear and anxiety. www.psychologytoday.com/au/blog/the-athletes-way/201405/how-does-the-vagus-nerve-convey-gut-instincts-the-brain)
It gets deeper “I Don’t want to be alone in the darkness” shooter point of view he don’t want to be alone so he going kill as many people as possible and take them with him. Eminem point he feel like hip hop is loss and he wants to bring many listeners to see it fro his point of view... Symbolic “Music To Be Murdered By”. WOW guys thanks for the love stay real #longlivehiphop
Also just a theory, I could be reaching but this is Eminem, you never know how deep it goes. At the end you see him go out onto the stage, into the lights. The darkness could be referring to off the stage, behind closed doors so to speak. He doesn't want to be alone anymore once all of the lights go off. For the shooter his "light" was being on TV, being infamous, being spoken about and having people know he exists. Like I say, a reach.
I fuckin love this comment... cuz what you said is so rare to hear nowadays .. to disagree but have respect. Its so small yet people want to fight over matter of opinion. I loved this
And he agreed that things will change when enough people care. That could mean a number of different ways things could change, but whichever change it is, it won’t happen until enough people care ✌🏼
Yes, I agree. The issue is that when people start disagreeing they tend to immediately think the other person won't let them say their point of view. Which is also due to how people are raised/been through.. Unlike Shaq i do believe changing laws will do something.. I do also do understand what he means when he says " they'll get their hands on guns" I think where it'll help is with the type of guns/ammo amount someone can buy and also more extensive checks.. that's how i see it tho. Many will have different opinions which is fine, just have to talk about it. I think that's also the point of this video.. since i have seen more people talking about it online and even with friends after they seen the video.
Fr, I dont live in the US but wont lessening the amount of people who can get guns just cause perpetrators to get guns illegally and prevent people who get guns legally from defending themselves? Surely if you’re going to carry out an attack it matters less to you that the gun is legal compared to someone who just wants one to protect themselves and there family?
Eminem did say everyone thinks his albums suck when they drop, give it ten years and it’s legendary. Honestly I don’t know an album I don’t like and ever thought was bad
Oh your one of those guys. A pussy. So scared you need to be armed to the teeth,so scared you need walls. And you fuckers have the balls to call people snowflakes. Stop being so scared of everything and grow a pair. Little bitches
Eminem brought me inside this shooters mind and made me feel like I was there. This was crazy powerful and how he talked about his life at the same time this man is a genius.
So basically in Em's prespective,he using mouthwash before going to show In Shooter's prespective, reaching SCOPE forthe shooting act. Never knew its so complex at all. Thanks
"Double entendre" this whole song. I don't think people get he's talking about himself but also talking about the shooting.. That you can make something better of yourself rather than ending it in darkness.
The song doesn't make it as obvious. But you would definitely think the video, especially the pills and vodka would have been obvious that he's talking about his career too
Qwoah just haters or those that are overly sensitive. Em is shining a light on something no one else really has the balls to shine a light on. Tying it in to his career just shows his genius!
GENIUS. This is a perfect song. The entire song is a double entendre. How he is literally telling 2 stories at the same time, is GENIUS. The extremities from one topic to the other, yet combines the two so seamlessly is ..... GENIUS a Top 10 Eminem song
Derek La buddy not everyone can catch that little ad lib man 😂 not a big deal bro lol he literally whispers it not everyone is gonna catch everything it’s fucking Eminem like tf😂
Ever so often he remembers everyone listening is still 12 steps behind, so he throws us a bone to keep us admiring him at the level we should, lol. He did it throughout all of Kamikaze
Yup but I know it very well I just don't put my attention on the whispers . It comes and I ignore it .I just give my attention to hard phases or other bars. .
“I bet you I’d be in tommorow a paper. Who would the odds favor”. He talks about how the media draws attention to these shooters giving them publicity and attention, while in reality they shouldn’t.
I love it when Shaq becomes speechless. Its like feeling like having good friends. I dont have many friends but I dont have a single friend who appreciates Eminem and Music as much as I would so I never have someone to talk to so Shaq Is like ike that friend who understands you and doesnt judge you.
I had a friend for many years who was so into Eminem, and music being one of our shared loves, he tried for years to get me to really listen to his music. But I was a lot younger and too closed off and honestly, too stupid to give him a true listen. I say stupid because my main reasons were that there was just too much controversy and I felt like I had enough shit going on in my life, I didn’t want to think about or deal with the bigger controversies. When my friend died (drunk driver hit the car he was in), I sat down with my grief and finally played every Eminem song I could find. It was one thing I felt like I still owed him and it was something about him I wanted to understand better. I regret that it took me so long to really listen to Eminem, because the man is a lyrical genius, but I regret more the missed conversations my friend and I could have shared about this music that was so important to him. I enjoy Eminem for his own sake, but also because every time I listen to him, it makes me feel closer to my friend, like he’s not completely gone. My friend didn’t have a lot of friends, but the ones he did have he genuinely cared about and I believe, visa versa. Maybe one day your friends will come around to Eminem, or maybe not, we all have different tastes (but still, tastes can change). Here’s hoping that one day one of them will and you will have someone you can share the music with. But if not, you still have the music and how it speaks to you and makes you feel, and that’s not a little thing.
*"I got ammo for all the hecklers"* DAMN!! What a great double entendre. 1) He got bars to spit at the hecklers in the audience. 2) He got bullets for all his "Heckler & Koch" guns. Em's the GOAT!!

Podtrash Radio another double entendre. Em going on stage in front of the fans/the glorification of the shooter(s) based on the TVs at the end. This song is just wild.
1/23/20 From Em about criticism "Gentle listener, "In today's wonderful world, murder has become so commonplace that we are a society obsessed and fascinated by it. I thought why not make a sport of it, and murder over beats? So before you jump the gun, please allow me to explain. "This album was not made for the squeamish. If you are easily offended or unnerved at the screams of bloody murder, this may not be the collection for you. Certain selections have been designed to shock the conscience, which may cause positive action. Unfortunately, darkness has truly fallen upon us. "So you see, murder in this instance isn't always literal, nor pleasant. These bars are only meant for the sharpest knives in the drawer. For the victims of this album, may you rest peacefully. For the rest of you, please listen more closely next time. Goodnight! "With deepest sympathy, Eminem."
I love how you talk up for Em when so many hate on him constantly. He's trying to get what his messages are across but so many ppl hate on him they don't even give him a chance...
His Social Justice Warrior message Well I guess that's better then his Promoting an entire generation to opiates for ten year Better then being a homophobe for 15 yrs
I agree about the quadruple meanings in his work. His mind is fascinating! He reads the dictionary, literaturary novels, pop culture items and the regular news that sometimes I think I'm missing about half of what he's saying.
“I’m ready for rapid fire spitting, for all the concert goers” totally went over my head and I’ve heard this song so many times... Like he’s ready to spit bars for all his fans, but at the same time fire off rounds at the crowd
Jonez Please tell me about the songwriter list on this song. Who wrote it? Idiot. How can you identify in the song with the curtain call curtains reference “That’s how you know he’s schizo.” Later stating “There’s no sign of Mental Illness.” You’re right he’s bending words, to make the lyrics incoherent and stupid. Eminem: Breathes Shaq: That's why this man's a genius! Me: Dats Tuff!! ... All jokes aside This album is a truly good, and this song is the cherry on top. Thanks for reaction, shaq!
Eminem says in one of his songs - "everybody just feels like they can relate I guess words are a motherfucker, they can be great or they can degrade, or even worse, they can teach hate, It's like these kids hang on every single statement we make" --- "See what these kids do, is hear about us totin' pistols and they want to get one, 'cus they think the shit's cool, not knowin' we're really just protectin' ourselves, we entertainers" That last scene where Eminem looks at all the TVs, I got the feeling he feels some responsibility for some of this. Eminem is the symbol for freedom of speech, always has been and forever will be. Despite his aggressive reputation I believe he has a good heart that the world doesn't always gets to see
I love his tracks with double meanings! Totally amazing! Like never love again, love this song, you can interpret it as him talking about a past lover then you realise he is talking about his battle with drugs and alcohol. That song hits you deep for real.
@@slim8617 Never Love Again has the most insane twist ever. Through the entire song he makes you feel like he's talking about a girl but as it turns out it's actually drugs.
@@ramonperez4148 I don't mind people keeping their guns. The real issue is mental illnesses and the checking the mental state of those who purchase them whether they have prior incidents or not. The right to bear arms isn't an issue. It's the human mind.
It's your right to bear arm. But the age limit is only 18. And you can go to any Walmart and buy a shotgun only needing an ID. While buying an unlimited amount of ammo. If you law abiding citizens why would having more restrictions matter?
It’s crazy to me to see that such a famous artist could have the same thoughts as a sadistic mass shooter and it all mean different things, yet equal depression and vices.
Well without the unnecessary offensive language used by "KennyM", it's in our biological nature to experience extreme human emotions. Some famous people handle fame differently than others. “Alcohol on my breath, as I reach for the scope” that shit is so hard. Scope (mouthwash) and the assault rifle scope. Damn Em is such a genius. By the way this album is still played to this day almost everyday.
He made an entire song a double entendre, and it's one of the best songs he's ever written. Over 10 million views in a single day. Yet haters call him a "guest". #DatsTuff
Those haters that call him a "guest" just can't admit that 1 of the greatest rapper's of all time, today and the foreseeable future is white. Because if he were "black American" they would be praising him for what he has done to the rap game and what he has achieved. I say all those haters need to stop hating, and appreciate this lyrical genius for his talent, who he is and what he's done, and get over the fact that he's white, because if you ask me all this colour bull***t is getting old.
@@falconknowledgey Then why are you discussing colour my G? Your just adding fuel to the fire... And I'm of colour. Everyone knows Nick and his crew are wack, and we should just leave it at that.
Because the haters listen to trash. Music. Nd black music. Nd they are mad at white. People regardless. They live in trashy communities. The reason lot of them say. My hood don't listen to Em he wack. Etc. Nd because they are racist. Nd hide the fact that they are by insulting you. Or saying something off topic just to make you mad. Bc they feel wronged by something happened to they'res grandparents. But this is something they never tell you. They're grandparents.. told them as kids. Nd gave them stories of how they're grandparents had to survive. So as kids they grow up thinking the same, but this they never tell you... they're grandparents told them don't hate any color. No matter what. Protect yourself. But respect always.. you'r free now.. so live freely. So don't live in the mentality of ignorance. But be ignorant when your truely wronged. Not in every situation.. just to use it as an excuse So bc the white man took everything else. But never the culture. And they see Em as a threat bc he's white. Keeping the culture safe so the real racist vultures that wanna take the culture. Won't take the dam culture. But they are paid black people in low communities to keep it black. To keep it ignorant. To keep the death rate going. Nd those are the ones who spread negativity. Talk ish. Nd lie in many situations. Trash only listens to trash. The reason they hate Em. Bc he's not constantly talking about, doing drugs, robbing, stealing, murdering, money, you know what hood niggas listen too. So it has something to do about race. The reason they like to trigger ppl. Nd insult for opinions. Then they use the excuse of freedom of opinions to turn table that, nd hide they're racism behind that. So you'll be distracted to argue about something that they aren't opinionated about..
You know, at this point I'm starting to thing he's a guest as well. He's so far above everyone else, he's gotta make a trip down here to visit us, then he's off again until next time.
“A lot of people saying the album is bad.” - just critics and those dumb enough to believe them without deciding for themselves if they like the songs. I swear these critics are just hating for no reason. If they know so much, why aren’t they out there writing their own chart-toppers?

xRaphiii 100% this. Everywhere I go, it’s just people constantly saying the albums bad, without explaining why. They just say the albums bad. It was the same shit with Kamikaze too. that’s why they’re haters. They don’t even bother giving reasons why the albums are bad, they just say it’s bad. That’s what they live for.
@RC Exactly, had these discussions with some people. At some point most of them just seem to troll anymore. Had one guy trying to argue, that Eminem has no multiple entendres in his lyrics. I mean just literally go to Genius and pick one song of his. Like aren't you fricking able to read bars. These arguments just waste your time at some point. Saw some reviews about "Music to be murdered by", from magazines completely uninvolved to music and Hip Hop tearing Em's album apart, just repeating smth they have heard somewhere else. I think it has become kind of comfortable and trendy to hate on Em because it always attention to you. Which of these trolls have ever studied the complex rhyme schemes of an Eminem song. So you're right, at a certain level it's just a personal frustration.

MAR3L MAR3L he even says double entrende after he says "round after round after round I'm getting loaded. That's a lot of shots"
This just hit me. He dont want to be alone in the darkness. The shooter takes out people then shoots himself. So hes not alone in the darkness

Even if you listen to this song 500 times, you will still find something deeper.
"Thas tough."
Damn that’s deep
I haven’t seen anyone comment on the bars: “feels like I’m loathing in Las Vegas, haven’t got the VAGUEST (vegas) why I’m so LOST (las) flippin the word play y’all!!
P Deezy I caught that
Hes a lyrical genius💯
If u didn’t catch that u shouldn’t even listen to rap. That was a easy catch.
@Compellingly Mediocre that's like the exact definition of word play
Em addresses:
Gun Violence
Depression
Mental Health
Performing
Addiction
Last but not least, The Power of Voting when Enough People Care
And stage anxiety
💯💯💯💯💯He's speaking truth and people don't want to hear it!!!!
@Chicken Bubblegum umm when is that??
This section is about to get toxic.
@Chicken Bubblegum Ariana fan spotted
Damn bruh
Thank you for this comment
Also just a theory, I could be reaching but this is Eminem, you never know how deep it goes.
At the end you see him go out onto the stage, into the lights. The darkness could be referring to off the stage, behind closed doors so to speak. He doesn't want to be alone anymore once all of the lights go off. For the shooter his "light" was being on TV, being infamous, being spoken about and having people know he exists. Like I say, a reach.
Well said ☺
Fire bro thanks for that perspective

You know Shaq's a real one when he keeps the respect despite having a slightly different opinion than em about the topic.
Agreed. It’s easier to get a gun than it is to get a divorce. Criminals don’t give two shits about gun laws. Someone wants a gun they can get one.
When Em stands up and walks to the lights of the crowd his not in the darkness no more, just like the shooter receiving attention from the media.

Yeah, it's nothing new with Eminem. He is a lyrical mad man, he is a genius.
That's so me holy shit

"Gentle listener,
"In today's wonderful world, murder has become so commonplace that we are a society obsessed and fascinated by it.
Goodnight!

No matter what. Protect yourself. But respect always.. you'r free now.. so live freely. So don't live in the mentality of ignorance. But be ignorant when your truely wronged. Not in every situation.. just to use it as an excuse
So bc the white man took everything else.
Boom! Ur last point is bang on point pal. Great question
It got gold certified 2 days back!
He went "ghost" and made an album, without hype. and made a great one.
This is why the Joker hits on so many topics of why people are going crazy
Devin Burk I know right.
Excactly! Good point.
Yes x
Elaborate
Trust me, Em would have played the Joker characterisation perfectly.
The whole fucking song gave me goosebumps and made me breathe heavy. How one mans words can impact me is beyond my comprehension. I do know Eminem just kicked the recliner up on his throne with this one. It’s going to take a lot for someone to top this. Wow .
everyone who says the album is bad has no idea what he is talking about
xRaphiii 100% this. Everywhere I go, it’s just people constantly saying the albums bad, without explaining why. They just say the albums bad. It was the same shit with Kamikaze too. that’s why they’re haters. They don’t even bother giving reasons why the albums are bad, they just say it’s bad. That’s what they live for.
yeh u r right man im from india
This album is lyrically his best
gun controls dumb it never works let use have our rights
Me: Just Started This React Video, Bout To Put My Blunt Out
SHAQ: Finish That Man, Finish That!
Me: Aight Coach, DAMN!!
*Nobody laughed*
Smoking bud right now watching the reaction 😂
@@itzAndy03 Get to bed. You got church in the morning.
@@itzAndy03 And yet you commented with a weak Ass comment 🤦♂️🤦♂️
@@beatsgam3r123 Already smoked 2 (in the last 6 hours), but I think I roll another ( maybe) final one while soaking in Em‘s new album the 6th time and then go to sleep knowing that the G.O.A.T. released another fire ass album no one expected. Greetz from germany, 4 am in the morning :D
"I don't wanna be lonely in this darkness". Em can't just say Misery Loves Company, he's gotta make it more poetic and impactful. Been my favorite for 20 years now, this is a perfect reason why!🤙
The attention to detail in the video is insane: the time on the clock, the setting up of the cameras are all so accurate.
Ive watched several reactions AFTER yours and you set the “bar” so high you get it immediately!!! There is no other reaction channel with the knowledge you have.. you deserve all the greatness thats coming to you.. we here in NC supporting you 💯!!! Lets get it
Since when has dez Bryant been doing reaction videos
Ruben Espinoza dude 🤣🤣
Amy long watch Knox Hill's reaction it's better
This Will never stop because America's fucked we don't get this shit in the UK
@edwin younes yup yeah. He did say he knew about what it was about beforehand at the beginning.
When you realize the entire song is a double entendre.... Em a mf legend 💯 this man the goat on me!
That means the lines he spits. Splits into two universe and its all a whooping quadruple etendre.
@@emgo-at7398 RIGHT!
This song brings a tear to my eye Everytime
Looks like Shaq missed the double entendre at 7:07 “alcohol on my breath, as I reach the scope” as in a sniper scope & scope mouthwash. This song is crazy
It's a deep song with a video buddy, he was caught up in the moment than looking for bars.
Then right after that the magazines. Then it showed real picture magazines and right by those was fun cartridge magazines 🔥🔥🔥🔥
🔫 I mean stupid spell check keyboard
This is why the Joker movie was 100 acurrate
Yep
Early that the title is "Eminem Darkness DONE" ;)
Ayeee we saw that shit
Saw that😂😂😂
Same
Me too lol
same!
"Alcohol on my breath as i reach for the scope" jesus
Album is fire every song literally is double entendre I like how we changed it up from Kamikaze give us something a little different the song right here I'm glad you're not sitting over there grinning and smiling like I've seen other reviewers doing this is a very somber video and this hits home for a lot of people come from Vegas I watch this what a lump in my throat and a heavy heart so I appreciate the way that you did you review
💯 agree. He and Stevie Knight show proper respect
The production of this album could arguably be the best of any album he's ever put out
I think part of the reason he did make this into a video, he doesn't want people to forget. He wants people to think about things
The symbolism and double meaning in this song is insane. Not to mention the piano interpolation of ‘Sound of Silence’. Absolute genius.
