Great video. I’ve tried ImagenAI and my only complaint is that there aren’t profiles geared towards African skin tones/weddings. Majority of the profiles are light and airy and of the ones I’ve tried for my weddings, they don’t work well. It would be great if they’d offer a bit more diversity as far as their talent profiles are concerned.
@@trevorgomo Its possible but you have to submit 5000 images. Personally, I don't have 5000 consistent wedding edits to submit for them to create my own personal profile.
You now have the option to create a Personal AI Profile with just 3000 photos. We are looking to build out our Talent AI Profiles this year so there will definitely be more options. You currently have the option to re-edit a project for free with the Talent AI Profiles up to 5 times so you can find out if there are any styles that work for you.
Thank you for this! I already use Imagen Ai voor editting, but I still don't understand the culling part with the stars. You select only the 4 and the 5 stars, but what are the 1,2,3 stars then?
No, you can select whatever you want. Around the 4:20 mark you can see the left side of the interface explaining how the starts will be distributed, but obviously that's a wider selection and you're most likely not going to be interested in anything below 4 stars. The good thing is that if you don't trust it, you can filter by 1 or 2 or 3 stars to view just those, and manually give them a 4 or 5 star rating if you think the AI algorithm has missed an important shot.
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto so is it similar that you can resync your changes to Imagen to train the AI? This seems like it could be really good as the features in Lightroom like survey mode and such are developed already. I’m currently liking Narrative select, would love one of these companies to merge haha
Honestly it's pretty tight for comparison now even though Imagen is still in Beta for culling. It's come a long ways in a short time. If you prefer Lightroom for your workflow, Imagen is very nice since most things happen in there.
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto Thank you! I've been following your process and been using aftershoot then imagen. Now if this new imagen feature is as or almost as good as aftershoot, would definitely use it as it's such an easier workflow. One thing I like in aftershoot is that it allows you to see all the duplicated images and allow you select the one you like instead of the one chosen by AI.
Wouldn't Lightroom do the same thing as this software does? Like, just select any star group you have made and select all pictures with auto sync on, and it will automatically edit all the pictures within a few minutes.
It's very different actually. We look at each photo individually (.33 seconds each) and determine what is needed for each photo to get from A - Z based on the editing style.
I downloaded AfterShoot as well as Imagen AI. Can you put together a tutorial of how to use BOTH cohesively? I'm having a hard time importing the catalog from AS to Imagen...
Both of them are supporting culling and editing as one program soon. So this will be sorted out soon. Until then, I used Photo Mechanic to transfer in between. I think it comes with a 30 day trial which might buy the time until both companies offer both services
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto Copy that. I went ahead and culled in AS and am pulling out my hairs trying to get Imagen to accept the images AS just culled. You'd think this was easier...
Hi, thank you for sharing your video. I just used Imagen AI to edit a full wedding and once I exported the photos out of lightroom they were of a low resolution compared to my regular edits. Have you come across this issue?
I photograph events and use a different style than photo shoots and weddings. Can I use the software for both or will that ruin the whole AI learning part?
Amen.. have been using IAi for awhile now, the culling is OK, but still not as good as Aftershoot. However, as you pointed out, straightening is a massive game changer.
Just signed up with aftershoot for $399 per year lifetime price for both editing and culling - no brainer for me personally, as I know so many togs on Imagen who have spent 4 times as much over a wedding season. Both though are absolute game changers, and I can say with Aftershoot edits that it is totally on point with my own preset as well as crop, straightening, wb & exposure. Colour me impressed!!
Oh this would be incredible. I know nothing of development, but I suspect it's something on their radar. Another dream would be a system that would identify and pull the best stills from videos. So you just drop the footage on the app, and it kicks you out everything worth having in 4K jpgs or TIFFs. Could go very video heavy at weddings and never worry about not having the stills.

I use imagen to lower the photography quotes for the wedding. It’s amazing. I argue with the photographers once they mention they can send the photos fast. Then I asked them why I am paying this much for AI service. Then I called someone else who was willing to do it for less
I can give clients their images even faster. Shoot dual cards and when the wedding is over I give them a SD card with their images. Sometimes I'm off on my exposure and I get bad reviews so I change my company name about once a month.🤪

Out of all the AI editing I’ve tried I’m the most impressed with Imagen so far! Even if it saves me a few hours per wedding that’s a huge win

Great video! Can you share this L-shape mount for the action cam? Looks like great tool.
Have been looking into Imagen for this coming wedding season. (prior to this video) Does look pretty good!
It's changed a lot of peoples workflows dramatically. For sure worth giving it a shot to see if it works for you.
Great stuff...Imagen is fantastic! I use it whenever doing events..worth every cent!

Don’t have any weddings now until April but used Imagen last year, looks even better now!

Amazing :-)
Here I was ready to quit weddings since doing it as a side gig was too taxing on my time. This is legit awesome.
So you still have to pick the images? Or are the stars magic? Does 58 minutes include all the pre picks?
Does images work with capture one?
Nice video! Unrelated question: what are you using to attach your action camera to your camera? Thanks
Taylor, how do you compare this to Aftershoot culling? Is the process different in how they approach it?
This is in Lightroom. So it’s a bit different. For actual quality of selections, they’re both pretty similar in my experience

Hi Taylor. What do mean when you say send pictures to 'the vendors'? How?
Hair stylist, cake maker, venue, etc
The pricing on the website is based on total final edits - this price includes culling of the raws or that’s an additional cost?
Culling is currently 100% free while in beta.
Is there any way it can choose black & white edits too? Or is it still colour only? Been a while since I tried Imagen...

How do you edit the skin tones and then apply your other AI edits?
When do you deliver the whole wedding gallery then?
Like 3 weeks
Culling still hasn't shown up in mine. That's a shame.
Maybe send support a message and ask about it
I cant upload my photos because it says "they were not edited" ?
