- Lost Maples State Natural Area is a large, pristine area of beautiful hills and canyons on the upper Sabinal River in the Edwards Plateau Region of Texas. We spent one day in the park and went on the scenic east and part of west trails to see Monkey Rock, Grotto, and a few other overlooks. The entire east trail is nearly 4.4 miles and it took 2-2.5 hrs to complete it.

I remember going here as a field trip in the early 90's. The utopia buffaloes!!! Cant wait to go again one day.
You caught some really beautiful fall foliage at Lost Maples. I was there last fall but I believe I was about a week early. Lost Maples is my go-to park for hiking.
Great foliage colors!
Mid-Nov is usually the best time. But to guaranty that you can get in is the middle of the week, weekends are usually sold out and reservations only that time of year, call ahead!
Yes. 2nd or 3rd week of Nov is the best time to see the fall colors!!
When is the best time (day)to visit this place in October???
We visited in the second week of November. Please check the fall foliage map 2021 for updates.
Cool park for foliages. However, you must have processed the footage to make it much more vibrant and colorful than it actually is. It looks more saturated in reality. Overall still a good place to visit in Texas in the fall.
The video was fun to watch. The "music" was not enjoyable at all.
