What you call a TV show they call it Estrada in Russia and to be big there, you have to sing it there. Most famous Estrada singer Ala Pugacheva has sold over 250 million albums during her long career so contemporary or not, it is where eyes and ears of Russians are. Now, I personally loved the song because it has both drama and vocal perfection that I love. I don't know what character you talking about - theatrics of Dimash almost matches his vocal ability. And if you looking for distortion in a voice, you won't get that with him. It's just not him. Distortion is imperfection, no matter how colourful, and Dimash simply does not do imperfection. But we all have different tastes. By the way, it is nice to hear a bit of criticism as every other commentator is mesmerized and just singing praises. It takes an annoying Frenchman to do it. Hahah

Part of my has to agree a teeny bit. I didn’t really appreciate the musical gymnastics in this particular song, I’m well aware of this talent but there is a time and place. Phew! Dimash has been on another solo world tour, this week was in Russia and Latvia for two concerts, with 4 more to go this month in Hungary, 3 in Germany and one in Kiev performing in stadiums to around 30 thousand people each show. This was a live show for a russian singer benefit concert in the Kremlin Palace Moscow. It was put up 2 hours after he sang it live. He doesn't do TV show, he is known as a live performer. The song was a Collaboration between Dimash and Igor Krutoy, the pianist Composer and the words were written by Lara Fabian

I'm late but still feel the need to state my opinion. Dimash is versatile but shines best ( in my opinion) in the neoclassical style. There are many phenomenal hip-hop, pop and rock artists so if that's what you want then listen to them. Dimash transports people to other worlds because he isn't confined by genre, and not because he makes mainstream music.

I'm originally from Germany (now living in US). My spin on this is that I think they're trying to move his music from Asia into the European market. This kind of music will be played on radio stations over there more often and will find it's fans much more easily. America is now quite fascinated with Dimash because as you said, the high voice, but I don't think it will take hold with the masses. Pop has a very young audience (teenagers) and classical music has some of the older generation. But neither is as widespread as in Europe and of course Asia/Eurasia.

А композиция очень сложная и видно как Димаш выкладывается и физически и эмоционально. Первые секунды после окончания песни он ещё не может выйти эмоционально из песни, теряет реальность. The pianist is the most famous Russian pop composer that every Russian star wants to work with and is loved from ordinary people to oligarchs the likes of Abramovich that sends him brand new Mercedes as a gift of gratitude.
What you call a TV show they call it Estrada in Russia and to be big there, you have to sing it there. Most famous Estrada singer Ala Pugacheva has sold over 250 million albums during her long career so contemporary or not, it is where eyes and ears of Russians are.
Now, I personally loved the song because it has both drama and vocal perfection that I love. I don't know what character you talking about - theatrics of Dimash almost matches his vocal ability. And if you looking for distortion in a voice, you won't get that with him. It's just not him. Distortion is imperfection, no matter how colourful, and Dimash simply does not do imperfection. But we all have different tastes.
By the way, it is nice to hear a bit of criticism as every other commentator is mesmerized and just singing praises. It takes an annoying Frenchman to do it. Hahah

Part of my has to agree a teeny bit. I didn’t really appreciate the musical gymnastics in this particular song, I’m well aware of this talent but there is a time and place. Phew! I thought I told you that the piano player joined Dimash to compose songs for him. His name is Igor Krutoy and he also has a strong bond with Lara Fabian. This song was worked on by Dimash and Igor and Lara. Igor composed the new songs Olympico (Ogni Pietra) and Passione. You will see them together a lot. The festival New Wave is also Igor's annual festival so that is why he is playing for every Dimash song from New Wave. He came from retirement when heard Dimash singing, and he started to compose for him. He is producer and billionaire, but could not resist to compose for Dimash. They are very close as a families now, he loves how humble and shy Dimash is, and Dimash has a huge gratitude and respect towards him. I am subscriber and watch every single reaction you make, but now I am at least surprised that after so many performances with Maestro Krytoy you do not check who he is??? Always being with Dimash? Dimash has been on another solo world tour, this week was in Russia and Latvia for two concerts, with 4 more to go this month in Hungary, 3 in Germany and one in Kiev performing in stadiums to around 30 thousand people each show. This was a live show for a russian singer benefit concert in the Kremlin Palace Moscow. It was put up 2 hours after he sang it live. He doesn't do TV show, he is known as a live performer. The song was a Collaboration between Dimash and Igor Krutoy, the pianist Composer and the words were written by Lara Fabian

The pianist is Igor Krutoy, who composed all the music he accompanies, and I'd be very surprised if he weren't playing live. Lyrics by Lara Fabian, in this case. Igor is a VERY big deal in Russia, with an endless list of songs and awards. Dimash said in an early interview that he always dreamed of singing with an orchestra, so working with Igor must be a dream come true for him!

How cool he don't need to sing distortion music that you like we just love the songs he sing. I'm sure you heard him sing show must go on in his 2017 competition there is part of distortion there because it's go with the song. I'm late but still feel the need to state my opinion. Dimash is versatile but shines best ( in my opinion) in the neoclassical style. There are many phenomenal hip-hop, pop and rock artists so if that's what you want then listen to them. Dimash transports people to other worlds because he isn't confined by genre, and not because he makes mainstream music.

I'm originally from Germany (now living in US). My spin on this is that I think they're trying to move his music from Asia into the European market. This kind of music will be played on radio stations over there more often and will find it's fans much more easily. America is now quite fascinated with Dimash because as you said, the high voice, but I don't think it will take hold with the masses. Pop has a very young audience (teenagers) and classical music has some of the older generation. But neither is as widespread as in Europe and of course Asia/Eurasia.
