Its a big pain. I’m working in episode 5. Decided not to commentate every shot so have to do a voiceover. Will give me a lot of room to get detailed. Also will be easier to hear because no shop noises and no ac running in the background
Cool video. I know nothing about machining or head work but as a Corvette owner I loved hearing how the LS7s are different than the other Gen IV LS engines as well as your input on the valve guide issue they have. Do you see the valve guide issue in all LS7s no matter the year?
Yeah all LS7’s it never was improved on. Typically would see the issues in the intake side. The powdered metal oem valve guides stood no chance to the the hard crn coating on the titanium intake valves.
Why are exhaust ports textured? I would think smooth and polished but I’ve seen and heard they are textured… why is that? And why is crosshatching needed? I’m an electrical and controls guy… haha! Thanks! Great video!
Is it really worth all the time to put a basin on the exhaust ports. Seen them on intake ports but not in the exhaust. Just wondering, I know your just trying to make them same.
Yes what I’m doing is what I would have done anyways if someone had asked me to port their heads. I’m not totally sure what you mean by basin, but the ports are a pretty straight shot on these, so thats a preexisting shape, it happens to like it when you shape it the way I did though. Really helps make good power. Maybe you can help clarify what you mean I can do my best to answer your question. Obviously some things I’m doing are going to differ compared to what other people would do. Thanks for watching!
I like your channel and want to watch all content but the guy doing the heads seems like he is mad or upset that he was doing the LS7 HEADS. I turned him off at halfway.
@@EngineRehabI like your channel , and want to watch all the content; but the guy doing the head seems like he is just too sexy to machine ls7 heads; I turned the volume up to 150% halfway
It might be a PITA to film but the commentary while you work is great. It definitely educates the average viewer. Please keep posting!

I was pretty irritated at finding one surprise after another on one head. Its part of it but also why two other machine shops gave up on them.
