Thanks!! I really enjoy watching videos from youtubers in Alaska too. I actually live right near the panhandle which is why we have such similar terrain, similar geology too!! I've been trying to find some garnets here that are comparable to the Wrangell deposit but i haven't quite found that quality yet. I'll be uploading more soon, glad you like the videos!!😁
@@NWRockExplorer I just looked up the Wrangell deposit and i had no idea we had such quality garnets over on the pan handle! I live on the Kenai peninsula and I've always gone to collect agates on the beach but haven't really even thought about what other stuff we might have around here. I hope you find those high quality garnets in your area soon, it'd be really cool to see that and see what you do with them. I think it's awesome that you do all your own metal work aswell, I'd one day like to do that too, but for now I just really enjoy cabbing. What a great hike to the top of the world! It's so beautiful and it's fun watching you look for sunstones. Those old ladders were pretty cool too. Thanks for sharing
Thanks!! Yea the ladders are quite unique to this trail around here, haven't seen any like them on the other trails. Really saves a lot of time not having to climb on steep rock!!

Your rock hounding locations always seem so intense but the beauty is amazing. Should have done a time lapse with your bug bites. Always thought I wanted to go hounding with you but I'm not so sure anymore 😂
These are just Dakota bib rain pants, fairly good quality but I am pretty rough on them so I'll need to get a replacement soon. They are a bit warm but great if your dealing with mud and snow.
Another great video! And man, those bugs looked like they wanted to eat you alive, lots of bug spray needed I assume. Are those cabins deserted? Be fun to helicopter a years' worth of food and supplies and spend a year just living up there taking in all the seasons!
Thanks!! These cabins are owned by locals although I haven't seen anyone up there before. Someday I'd like to build a cabin or maybe some micro shelters but I'm not sure where or how I'd do it. I really like the coastal areas so I might have to get myself a kayak to explore the islands and channels to see if I can find some cool spots🤔

You sure carried a lot of weight up that mountain. What waders do you wear? Seems like they would be hot but it's sure nice to stay dry.
