Bruce Brown and Chris Boucher for BI straight up. If the Raptors trade Poeltl in any deal they better be getting a starting center in return... Losing a starting center will hinder the development of SB, RJ, IQ, GD and the rest of the young players on the roster. I'm still holding out hope for a potential Bruce Brown/Chris Boucher for Andrew Wiggins/Moses Moody deal...
I agree with your thoughts, but realistically Poeltl isn't a starting center on championship contending teams. He's a damn good back up or a starter on a weak team like ours or the Spurs.

Ever notice whenever there is a possible 'major' trade, that the raps are in the mix and then OOOOH so close but never close the deal?
How many more times till YTers can finally point out that the reason the raps are always involved is to be used as that team for leverage. Always dealing in the mix but never actually fr in the deal?

Trade is rental at best imo and better to take a shot with your draft pick rather than end up trading Jak for a 1st rnd exit and a huge bill at the end. Skip the trade so that if the season sucks, tanking for the next draft an option. Oh and get a 4 with better defensive upside. Scottie deserves it.

We ain’t gonna be keep Ingram past the trade deadline lol. He doesn’t fit our timeline whatsoever. He’ll be used as a trading chip to add more young talent + extra draft capital. Contenders will throw whatever they got come February to get him

If this trade is on the table you pull the trigger. You can’t just look at Pascal and Ingram as similar players in terms of stats. You have to look at the actual make up of your team and see who fits better with your core. Ingram is simply a better fit around Scottie than pascal was. He also brings one thing pascal struggled with and that’s 3 point shooting and spacing. You have to remember Trent is gone which means our 3 point shooting could be even worst than last season. Fit is important when building a winning team. it’s the same way I don’t think Randall and Kat on the same team is not a good fit. You can’t just look at stats and say well we should have given pascal the money if we’re going to give Ingram the money. . Pascal and Scottie was just not a good fit even without the money being an issue.
@@mikeyjames Ingram shoots like 1 3 a game (not sure, I know its low) and is a ball stopper. Thats why most teams can't make it work with him, he is a hard fit and Darkos system doesn't suit him at all. Not that ball stoppers are bad players, but more of an iso heavy team would make much better use of him than our team theoretically would. Pascal was much bigger and stout defender which is something we lack, though I would say Pascal is the type to say pass it to me and let me cook as well. A Jerami Grant would be more fitting as he brings size, 3 shooting, defence and could fit into our offence. Why not just let the young guys get some run and reassess when we see what it is we have in the youngins?

you have to look at what siakam at his low value got at trade deadline. siakam still got 3 picks.
that is what pelicans are gonna look for.
if all ingram is getting is 1 pick, they can hold onto him at trade deadline because the offer cant be worse than that. and ultimately they can just decide to give him his max and try to trade him later as his value likely be more than it is now.
that trade offer of jakob poeltl bruce brown and 2026 pacers pick is not based in reality. pelicans will hold onto to ingram till trade deadline and decide if thats the only offer available.
they can probably trade ingram to the knicks for randle and get 3 picks from knicks

Other teams like the warriors are probably desperate enough as well (esp if the Lauri trade doesn’t pan out), they could easily offer Moody + picks.
You're just typing without thinking. Why would the knicks trade randle, who is a 3x allstar and 2x all nba for a worse player in BI? And they would have to add 3 picks? are you crazy.... Plus Nola has already had Julius randle, I dont think they would want him back especially since they already have zion in his position.
@@dkarmusic5424 it doesn’t make sense for NOLA but for the Knicks? Even Knicks fans are split on Randle. He’s one of the worse playoff droppers in history, on the other hand he’s all-nba. It’s the DeMar dilemma lol. It doesn’t have to be BI, but literally any starting calibre forward for Randle and they’re still contenders.
@@boiboiboi8684I don’t think there’s a big enough of an upgrade available to make me want to trade Randle. He rebounds at an extremely high level, and is a great scorer and takes attention off of Brunson. Randle also gets a bad wrap for his playoff performances as he was injured two years ago and this past year was injured as well. He’s only had one real bad playoff performance, so I don’t think that’s indicative of how he’ll be going forward

Between Mikal, Brunson, OG, DiVo and ( ____ Randle replacement) they can easily replace his offense. DiVo, especially looked good with more touches, same with OG, Nevermind they got Mikal so the offense is there. And we already know about hoping/praying our star doesn’t choke.. (maybe it won’t be like last time) is a fallacy we’re too familiar with.
I agree with the comments of others that giving up Poeltl without getting having a starting centre makes this deal a no go for me personally. Don't see Ingram staying on a deal they can afford if they want to get a decent starting centre. Maybe Brown, Boucher, Agbaji, and the Pacers protected first for Ingram and Hawkins.

The trade idea is honestly not bad, worse comes to worse, we get off the contracts if BI doesn't resign. Opens a ton of cap space for next year
Our current roster beyond starting 5 isn’t good enough. We still need one more piece at the top of the draft. No trades to improve the roster this year. Cooper Flagg is a small possibility if we suck one more year.
What they need is to involve the Golden State Warriors as Golden State does not have the center the Pelicans need to get Ingram. I would look for same trade with the 1st pick swapped for that 2nd from Portand in 2025, dont want to give up that 1st in 2026. Then ship Ingram, Boucher and Garrett Temple to the Warriors for Wiggins, Moody and Trayce Jackson-Davis and see what other draft compensation you can get out of the Warriors.
From what I am reading the Warriors are borderline giving up much of their youth and draft picks in the trade with Utah for Markkanen. This trade keeps Podziemski on the Warrior which seems to be the holdup in the Utah trade. Hopefully Raptors can sign Koloko as their center and with Jackson-Davis they can make up for the loss of Poetl. Warriors get the star player in Ingram who will most likely sign an extension with them and Boucher is the rebounder, shot blocker and energy they need off the bench. Personally Moody is in all Warrior trades and seems easy for the Warriros to give up, I think he could be the best Warrior eventually. The Raptors need to get him

He was great in San Antonio, he was great as a young player for us, he was great the 1st season we had him. He had one "bad" season (wasn't even that bad, mostly just injuries) that when he was om the court we were a good team, when he wasn't we were terrible. I mean, what?

And JP is too much of a liability on offense at 10ppg in a league scoring more points than ever in history. Get off Yak, BB, and Boucher. I stand by saying Yak is the worst possible type of center to develop Scottie. Yak can't space, shoot the 3, or shoot a ft. He crowds the lane for Scottie and RJ. The sooner Yak is gone, the better.
He can do good if run ones for him. He doesn't need to shoot just get offensive rebounds and ne an option in transition.
