This is my board! So for the background story, this was my parent's tv. They told me the tv died after a thunderstorm. Seems like the power surge went through the ethernet port (as Nick told me). The strangest thing is that my parents local network is still working 100%. Anyway, all i can say is that Nick's service is top notch. Don't hesitate if you have an electronic problem.
We didn't show it all on screen but that's crazy that your parents network didn't get affected. As you can see in the video there are several components in line with the ethernet port that were burnt.
Awesome.Nick. Can a thermal camera be helpful may be some hidden shorts or all the ram chips are somehow damaged..Looks like another sony with ( Hard to Fix) surname😅
Actually yes, we are looking into getting a thermal camera. We are talking to a company to sponsor a video that makes thermal cameras. We have several repairs for TV's where one of those would be useful to identify a short.
Hello Nick, an issue here that I haven't seen you dealing with. It's the 6 blinking standby light, meaning backlight issue however when I unplug the backlights during troubleshooting I get the same issue
We don't cover 6 blinks because it's a very straight forward diagnostic. It's always LED strip failure. We do have 1 video where we do an LED strip replacement because they are trickier than most other sets which is the 900C models. ua-cam.com/video/S5V0hRjH7TA/v-deo.html
We don't really see that model very often, but if I do I will. As for the gate drive, I will try to see if we have a good TV we can do a video on for that.
Your video is very clear and satisfy when watching. However, the final results is not what i expected. You can try to check the chip which is converter from 19v DC to 5v DC in the right top of the board. Check the input (19v) and the output, if no output, you can easily replace it or use a external board to do the same function.
I will give that a check but I do believe even though we didn't show it in the video, that we did get the 5v output. It's been a while so I don't remember if we did or now but will double check it.
Hisens Model 85H6510G Turning on, sound working. But have black screen. You think it can be the main board or power board ? I know it’s not a Sony but thought I would ask , keep up the good work been helping me grow my knowledge for my customer base
That is great to hear, glad we can help. Have you done the flashlight test to see if you get video on screen? Did you use an LED tester to test the LED strips? My first guess is if you do have a picture with the flashlight test, then your LED strips or your power supply are bad. Check out this video for more info on this: ua-cam.com/video/Y2TvjBBao4U/v-deo.htmlsi=DjazlURewOmmLbix But if that is not the case and say you do have backlight on then most likely I would be looking at a panel fault. That's its own beast, I don't have many videos on how to fix panels right now.
Hello Nick, my sony xbr-65x900h tv have the 4 red light blinking error code. It power on normally and works for about 40 seconds before shutting down and show the 4 red light code. I changed the Power Board and the Led Driver board but the issue is still there. I'm looking for any tips, but my next step is to replace the main board before giving up on this TV. Thanks
@@NicksTVRepair thank you. I tried the by pass tricks but it did not work also. I will replace the LED strip. I saw that you have a video on this with a Sony model.
hello sir, my exact same model tv is starting up but stuck on the starting up logo like some sort of loop. the starting up animation is just keeps repeating, i tried holding the buttons while pluggin into the socket but doesnt work
It strongly sounds like you have an eMMC failure. This is a fault we service under our flat rate service if you are interested in sending it in for repair.
@@NicksTVRepair Resistors rarely if ever fail short, they usually gain resistance. But you gotta know in this case, and how would you know what resistance they were to replace them if you did?

Can you make a video to fix the panel problem (gate drive) horizontal and vertical lines in the same Sony model or W800D

4 blinks is an LED failure. You will need to replace the LED strips in your TV to fix this one.

Hello sir a I am from India.may be i want to know sony x reality main chip change .does chip need a program please reply
No programing from the ones we are buying but might depend on the supplier
Did you replace the burnt resistors at ethernet
We did not replace them but we did remove them in case they were shorting out certain lines to one another.
