Thinking about this song on a deeper level than 'it's pretty'.
A few of my observations,
1. The slight echo, to make it feel more empty/desolate
2. The minimal use of instruments, to reinforce the idea of 'back-water town'
3. The rise of emotion in her voice when she says 'let's get out of this town' to show hopefulness at the idea of finding something better

all of my friends are growing up and experiencing different things so fast while i’m just the same old me doing the same old stuff, it’s almost like i’m getting left behind in a way.
i just want to leave this state of sameness to do something different with myself instead of living in a world of insanity. i’m so desperate to find change that i’m fearing i might get the worst kind of change, i’m lost, and if i don’t try for a chance, nothing happens.

The thing I've learned about change is? Nothing changes if nothing changes. Try something you always wanted to do, start small and keep doing that and then you'll start to eventually change, for the better.
Change is never good unless you make it good. Make change a good thing by changing for the better look at the things that disappoint you or disappointed you in the past and work on changing them. Take risks, don't be afraid of failing or embarrassing yourself. Don't care about what people say. Explore different things even if you are not sure if it'll be worth it or not. That's how you break out of the status quo. There is a chance you will like that change eventually.

I just heard this song in the radio and it made me smile, 'cause it reminded me from my high school years. I (like many of my friends) was busy planning getting out of that town just like the lyrics say: "Nothing ever changes here, I know, Another day, another year, same old, I don't wanna live my life in circles, I just wanna find an empty road". Now about 20 years later, after travelling around/living abroad more than a decade, I am settled and have no rush anywhere.. The future will show, if this is "forever", but at least now: "No hurry anywhere.. No hurry out of this town.." :) !
