I'm the crazy bastard who went against this guy with a Nekomata in my team (alongside Uber Pixie and Titania). The craziest part is that said Nekomata was the second highest damage dealer in my party, dealing ~4k per Iron Claw compared to the protagonist's ~6k Freikrugel.

This song and Persona 4’s “The Almighty” are kinda similar to me. The way they both chaotically escalate into this...serene climax? Is very similar to me. Obviously, this is a more techno/electronic based song with the guitar being a close backup, while “The Almighty” throws all of its weight onto guitars and has background techno/electronic. The serene climaxes however, are a bit closer. They both use this really calming...guitar I’m assuming? This song has it fluctuate over the strings and techno sound, while “The Almighty” uses it occasionally alongside strings, the more hardcore guitar, and piano.
They're the same composer... he composed every persona series music, it's obviously similar... Shoji Meguro worked on many other spin-offs of the shin megami tensei franchise.
The instrumentation is similar, but the tones are different. This song is modtly meant to communicate the weight of your actions. Kagutsuchi is dead, and you killed him. Your world will NEVER be the same again. And now Lucifer is here to test you, to see of all that was worth it to gain a general who could strike down YHVH. Meanwhile, The Almighty is your struggle against the being responsible for setting these events into motion. Tonally, it's more like Kagutsuchi,'s themes melded together.
Honestly one of my favourite final boss music in my opinion. Such a fantastic and intense theme to end this game on, especially with how difficult this boss could be if not properly prepared for it.
Really cool to see your best demons taking on Luci in this fight. It’s like the toughest of the toughest have managed to make it this far, the ones that’ll have your back no matter what, your boys/girls. The ones with the big nuts to take on the King Darkness. Pretty cool imo.
It was even better for me because aside from Demifiend and Dante, I was forced to rotate my whole party around. Pixie, Albion, Daisoujou, Futomimi, everyone pulled their weight big time.
my party was pixie, raidou, and daisoujou, since daisoujou was like lvl 60, once i maxed out on buffs he’d be murdered brutally and i’d just switch him out for my lvl 86 mother harlot. having a sacrificial buffer was super useful for this fight on hard.
My final setup for this, bearing in mind it was the HD Remaster: Demifiend with Freikugel, Focus and a suite of debuffs Uriel with Debilitate and Tarukaja Mother Harlot as a healer Featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry series Aside from keeping the party topped off, attack buffed and Lou debuffed, I would Focus Freikugel if I could, Rebellion every turn, then heal up or pass turn.
+dzsidu Lol indeed. I think my fight (not counting him killing me the first time) might have still been around 10-15 minutes because I gave up Focus like a dumbass.
Coming back to this song after finally beating Lucifer Solo, No Items and with 1 Press turn gives me both insane ptsd but also between the music and how raw the fight is this is undoubtedly my favourite final bossfight in any game!
I think what really stand out with this fight is the atmosphere, I admit the fight isn't that great gameplay wise but man the atmosphere was so great : -This music is just perfectly fitting, it perfectly capt the feeling that this is the end of the journey but in order to get to the end you have to fight your toughest battle up to now. -I just love how Lucifer was build up, the Fiends, Belzebub or Metatron the game is reminding that Lucifer is more powerfull that these guys you struggle to defeat, and when in battle Lucifer is just as imposing as he was set, you litterally fight him in his own little dimension, he is stupidly huge, constantly in the shadow, he barely even move casting powerfull spell just by his mind and unlike every bosses he barely even flinch when you hit him, and doesn't even have a "near death" stance. What else to say ? In term of atmosphere this is just the perfect exemple of how to make a great boss.
@@JayAreAitch Actually my problem is not that he is hard but that he is too easy ^^ I had more trouble with previous bosses than him (and I played on Hard right from my first playthrough), I think for the Final Boss of a game such as Nocturne he was lacking gameplay wise, and I didn't even have the strongest magatama the first time I face him, thankfully there is an Hardtype Mod that actually makes him as challenging as it should be giving him unique moves and mechanics making him the great Final Boss that he should have been in the vanilla version.

Daisoujou is basicly cheatcode in Nocturne tho i dont understand why many new people are afraid to play Nocturne on Hard mode, Daisoujou makes it so easy xD.

I know that Kagutsuchi was the god of that universe that oversees creation, while Demi fiend destroyed him, along with other gods along his journey. I for one favor him as the best Messiah for me, but the powerscaling is wild as hell in megaten. I think he could easily snuff out YHVH without a problem, but many other people think it wouldn't happen, Demi fiend is honestly my number one favorite, because of how badass his entire build up was, which led him to the true demon ending. People don't put Kagutsuchi high up there, saying that Demi's greatest feat was Lucifer himself, when they usually don't count Kagutsuchi for some odd reason
SkydivisionX Kagatsuchi exist everywhere in the amalaverse. Since demi fiend defeated Kagatsuchi who is an avatar of YHVH, all existing kagatsuchi in different universes doesn’t exist anymore, thus he killed the adminstrator that oversees the entire infinite universe in nocturne of creation.
One of the best final parties you can have is a Shiva with Pierce and Focus, Beelzebub with Pierce and Focus, and Metatron as your healer. Alternatively to Shiva, you should have Surt with Pierce or use Raidou or Dante (Depends on which version you’re playing).
I went Gungho with Dante, Metatron with Debilitate+Takukaja, Beelzebub with Debilitate. And before you ask, yes, no Focus and Prayer on both Metatron and Beelzebub but still beat Lucifer on hard because I realize that I all of the Bead, bead chain, Soma and other party healing items I got should not go to waste. LOL. Got 2 lucky 10K Freikrugel crit while Dante just Rebellion for maximum crit turn. This is the remaster when Dante got Piece BTW.
So imposing while having a fittingly melancholic feeling. The world is dead and you destroyed any chance of it coming back. Now the only thing you can do is go along with Lucifer's plan whether you like it or not. It's not like you have anything to lose.

This battle, man, this battle must've been the most hardest final boss battles in all of RPGs I've ever played. Even if I read about this fight and prepared for it, it still was hard as balls but I won on my first try! Can't believe the only way to make this fight easier is to grind to max level which alone would be a complete waste of time and challenge. Great game and amazing fight nonetheless.
***** I don't know about Lucifer being easy. He can very easily kick your ass if you're not careful whereas it feels like it's hard to die when fighting Kagutsuchi.
***** I guess that's fair. You do stay on an even playing field with Lucifer more often than not which makes the fight harder. I think that's all the more reason I recognize Lucifer as the more decent end boss compared Kagutsuchi. He won't let you have an advantage for long. And his attacks can be pretty cheap.
Managed to beat this guy on my first try on the switch, first time ever playing an smt game, using Raidou, Metatron, and Samael. Holy shit this fight was long as hell and I basically only won because metatron had such a tremendous amount of MP to spam mediarahan with, samael was eating turns with makarakarn and his phys repel + a second source of debilitate, while Raidou was using provoke and teikeisatsu(sp?) inbetween me setting up for perfect freikugels. Those full recovery consumables I had in my inventory for the past 61 hours finally saw use during this fight. Was living on the edge the entire time because nobody had rakukaja. I can't imagine how this fight would be on hard.
I just read a comment from someone who beat Lucifer with a waifu team easily, so when I can devote time to finally playing this game, I'm going to beat him with a waifu team too. Nekomata, Yaksini, and Dante. YES, I DO KNOW WHAT I JUST SAID. But am I wrong about Dante being a waifu? Well, if Speedwagon can be best waifu, so can Dante.

how to fight lucifer 101 spam rakukaja on your dirty ass debilitate x4 Tarukaja x4 Focus Freikugel (With Pierce) be frustrated because he *IS* going to use dekaja or dekunda repeat
(Super long writing below) Just beat Luci days ago. Was super awesome. Had a team of me, Beelzebub, Michael, and Shiva. I couldn't get pierce on my demons, so I decided to do things the old fashioned way. Needless to say, it was hard. While my Freikugels did 2 to 4 thousand damage, the rest of the party did about 600+ for physical and 200+ if they had a magic buff. Michael was the true Mvp though. Prayer got rid of status elements, and he's immune to magic, so Luci wasted turns by attacking him. Deathbound also hits multiple times and can crit. Beelzebub debuffs and Glacial blasts to oblivion. Shiva's Hassonpas are legendary.
They're both great for their own reasons because they both encapsulate different feelings in terms of narrative design and theme. Y'all need to chill smh
I remember when I did this fight. My hands were sweaty and it took me half a friggin hour to beat him. I had my Demi-Fiend prepped, but the other demons just werent hitting as hard as I would have liked. I did have Dante and Uber Pixie though.
Ahhh, I'm excited to go True Demon on hard, just like the old days. Can't play this game (or turn-based RPGs in general) on any difficulty that isn't "Hard" thanks to this game.
Finished my first ever playthrough today and went right for true demon ending. Went in with Demi Fiend being the only one with pierce 😅 45 minutes later I got it done. 11/10 fight would do again but with more pierce 😂
How in the actual fuck were Shoji's skills still nerfed by the low budget at this point!? O_o... Its like a mix of that epic sad part of Persona final boss themes where you feel sadness of the journey ending even if you SOMEHOW survive the hell of that fight combined with the SMT styled sheer guitar madness!... How do you function! O_____O
Just beat Lucifer, was my first playthrough. Level 80 Hito with pierce, masakados, focus, and Death bound. He was the only one doing reasonable damage. Had Albion/Harlot/Uriel for support. Fighting Kagutsuchi 1/2 and Lucifer apparently took me an hour total.
that sounds about right. In my hard mode playthrough, with a properly prepared team, Kagutsuchi took me less than 10 mins and Lulu took me around 15(an extremely nice Lucifer that didn't use Dekaja or Dekunda once in the whole fight, that went incredibly well). Team was Daisoujou(cause always Daisoubro because Prayer is the best), Wu Kong and some Rakshasa that was literally there to Debilitate and Pass Turn(just like Wu Kong anyway, he's awesome but without Pierce nothing is worth it against Lulu). On my first go Kagu took about 20 mins and Lulu over 35. I was also level 80. I was 78 on my hard mode run, so I can say I've improved quite a lot. Also Hard Mode is actually bearable and an interesting challenge if you're willing to deal with the godawful slow start of the game(cause you always lack mana in the first quarter of Nocturne and in hard mode you can't afford to be economical with your mana) and accept the random dickish kill.
My best last boss fight went something like this, Metatron with Makakaja, Tarukaja, Debilitate, and Prayer (only skills i used during fight) Michael with Pierce, Focus, Stasis Blade, Tarukaja, Prayer, and Deathbound. Dante with normal Dante skills, used because he's badass and has rebellion (for crits) MC with Pierce, Focus, Freikugel, and Rakukaja. After all the buffs were done, MC, and Michael focused and used strongest skills (Friekugel, and Stasis Blade) usually 7k+ if a crit for Michael, and sometimes 10k for Freikugel , and Dante would rebellion for 2500 if crit (usually was) Worst part about Kagutsuchi was if your on hard mode without Rakukaja , Infinite light will almost indefinitely lead to a one hit KO. Kagatsuchi took less than 10 minutes Lucifer fight was similar, but it took around 15 minutes. Probably less because its been awhile. This was my best because i usually relied on MC to deal most of the damage, )because i love the fight so much) but i refused Michael to be super heavy damage dealer, so that cut the time.
I beat him on my first playthrough on my first try. I had Vishnu, Shiva, and Dante (I wanted Metatron, but he was a pain to get) My party was beyond Level 99
Demi-fiend was pretty much my only damage dealer as well. Pixie, Futomimi, and Black Frost were just there as support casters and turn passers. Although, Futomimi could do some respectable damage with his fire boosted Prominences when full buffs/debuffs were up.

Coming back to this song after finally beating Lucifer Solo, No Items and with 1 Press turn gives me both insane ptsd but also between the music and how raw the fight is this is undoubtedly my favourite final bossfight in any game!
I love how the final battle theme in Nocturne sounds like its straight out of DDS, the next game Demi-Fiend appears after achieving TDE

I think what really stand out with this fight is the atmosphere, I admit the fight isn't that great gameplay wise but man the atmosphere was so great :
-This music is just perfectly fitting, it perfectly capt the feeling that this is the end of the journey but in order to get to the end you have to fight your toughest battle up to now.
-I just love how Lucifer was build up, the Fiends, Belzebub or Metatron the game is reminding that Lucifer is more powerfull that these guys you struggle to defeat, and when in battle Lucifer is just as imposing as he was set, you litterally fight him in his own little dimension, he is stupidly huge, constantly in the shadow, he barely even move casting powerfull spell just by his mind and unlike every bosses he barely even flinch when you hit him, and doesn't even have a "near death" stance.
What else to say ? In term of atmosphere this is just the perfect exemple of how to make a great boss.

@@JayAreAitch Actually my problem is not that he is hard but that he is too easy ^^ I had more trouble with previous bosses than him (and I played on Hard right from my first playthrough), I think for the Final Boss of a game such as Nocturne he was lacking gameplay wise, and I didn't even have the strongest magatama the first time I face him, thankfully there is an Hardtype Mod that actually makes him as challenging as it should be giving him unique moves and mechanics making him the great Final Boss that he should have been in the vanilla version.

@@nesoukkefka1741 Gotcha. Turns out I was mistaken, anyways. Somebody modded in skills from other SMT games and re-balanced magic so it's more viable during the late game, but said mod didn't really pick up steam and got taken down awhile ago.

Daisoujou is basicly cheatcode in Nocturne tho i dont understand why many new people are afraid to play Nocturne on Hard mode, Daisoujou makes it so easy xD.
Threw mana refill and makatora on him and my party functionally could not run out of mana. Daisoubro is the GOAT!

I know that Kagutsuchi was the god of that universe that oversees creation, while Demi fiend destroyed him, along with other gods along his journey.
I for one favor him as the best Messiah for me, but the powerscaling is wild as hell in megaten.
I think he could easily snuff out YHVH without a problem, but many other people think it wouldn't happen, Demi fiend is honestly my number one favorite, because of how badass his entire build up was, which led him to the true demon ending.
People don't put Kagutsuchi high up there, saying that Demi's greatest feat was Lucifer himself, when they usually don't count Kagutsuchi for some odd reason

One could almost make a Taoism joke about this team set-up but the only question would be "How does one make it go with the flow. ?"
One of the best final parties you can have is a Shiva with Pierce and Focus, Beelzebub with Pierce and Focus, and Metatron as your healer. Alternatively to Shiva, you should have Surt with Pierce or use Raidou or Dante (Depends on which version you’re playing).
Cheat pixie is actually kinda terrible.
I went Gungho with Dante, Metatron with Debilitate+Takukaja, Beelzebub with Debilitate. And before you ask, yes, no Focus and Prayer on both Metatron and Beelzebub but still beat Lucifer on hard because I realize that I all of the Bead, bead chain, Soma and other party healing items I got should not go to waste. LOL. Got 2 lucky 10K Freikrugel crit while Dante just Rebellion for maximum crit turn. This is the remaster when Dante got Piece BTW.

This battle, man, this battle must've been the most hardest final boss battles in all of RPGs I've ever played. Even if I read about this fight and prepared for it, it still was hard as balls but I won on my first try! Can't believe the only way to make this fight easier is to grind to max level which alone would be a complete waste of time and challenge.

***** I guess that's fair. You do stay on an even playing field with Lucifer more often than not which makes the fight harder. I think that's all the more reason I recognize Lucifer as the more decent end boss compared Kagutsuchi. He won't let you have an advantage for long. And his attacks can be pretty cheap.

Just beat him, what a great game. Sad that it’s over, but next time I’m beating it on hard mode.
Managed to beat this guy on my first try on the switch, first time ever playing an smt game, using Raidou, Metatron, and Samael. Holy shit this fight was long as hell and I basically only won because metatron had such a tremendous amount of MP to spam mediarahan with, samael was eating turns with makarakarn and his phys repel + a second source of debilitate, while Raidou was using provoke and teikeisatsu(sp?) inbetween me setting up for perfect freikugels. Those full recovery consumables I had in my inventory for the past 61 hours finally saw use during this fight. Was living on the edge the entire time because nobody had rakukaja.
I can't imagine how this fight would be on hard.
On Hard Root of Evil followed by normal attack to Demi Fiend are guaranted game over unless your DF HP is maxed 999.

Just beat Luci days ago. Was super awesome. Had a team of me, Beelzebub, Michael, and Shiva.
I couldn't get pierce on my demons, so I decided to do things the old fashioned way. Needless to say, it was hard. While my Freikugels did 2 to 4 thousand damage, the rest of the party did about 600+ for physical and 200+ if they had a magic buff.
Michael was the true Mvp though. Prayer got rid of status elements, and he's immune to magic, so Luci wasted turns by attacking him. Deathbound also hits multiple times and can crit.
Beelzebub debuffs and Glacial blasts to oblivion. Shiva's Hassonpas are legendary.

I remember when I did this fight. My hands were sweaty and it took me half a friggin hour to beat him. I had my Demi-Fiend prepped, but the other demons just werent hitting as hard as I would have liked. I did have Dante and Uber Pixie though.
Ahhh, I'm excited to go True Demon on hard, just like the old days. Can't play this game (or turn-based RPGs in general) on any difficulty that isn't "Hard" thanks to this game.

Finished my first ever playthrough today and went right for true demon ending.
Went in with Demi Fiend being the only one with pierce 😅 45 minutes later I got it done. 11/10 fight would do again but with more pierce 😂

Its like a mix of that epic sad part of Persona final boss themes where you feel sadness of the journey ending even if you SOMEHOW survive the hell of that fight combined with the SMT styled sheer guitar madness!... How do you function! O_____O

Just beat Lucifer, was my first playthrough.
Level 80 Hito with pierce, masakados, focus, and Death bound. He was the only one doing reasonable damage.
Had Albion/Harlot/Uriel for support.
Fighting Kagutsuchi 1/2 and Lucifer apparently took me an hour total.
that sounds about right.
In my hard mode playthrough, with a properly prepared team, Kagutsuchi took me less than 10 mins and Lulu took me around 15(an extremely nice Lucifer that didn't use Dekaja or Dekunda once in the whole fight, that went incredibly well).
Team was Daisoujou(cause always Daisoubro because Prayer is the best), Wu Kong and some Rakshasa that was literally there to Debilitate and Pass Turn(just like Wu Kong anyway, he's awesome but without Pierce nothing is worth it against Lulu).
On my first go Kagu took about 20 mins and Lulu over 35. I was also level 80. I was 78 on my hard mode run, so I can say I've improved quite a lot. Also Hard Mode is actually bearable and an interesting challenge if you're willing to deal with the godawful slow start of the game(cause you always lack mana in the first quarter of Nocturne and in hard mode you can't afford to be economical with your mana) and accept the random dickish kill.
My best last boss fight went something like this,
Metatron with Makakaja, Tarukaja, Debilitate, and Prayer (only skills i used during fight)
Michael with Pierce, Focus, Stasis Blade, Tarukaja, Prayer, and Deathbound.
Dante with normal Dante skills, used because he's badass and has rebellion (for crits)
MC with Pierce, Focus, Freikugel, and Rakukaja.
After all the buffs were done, MC, and Michael focused and used strongest skills (Friekugel, and Stasis Blade) usually 7k+ if a crit for Michael, and sometimes 10k for Freikugel , and Dante would rebellion for 2500 if crit (usually was)
Worst part about Kagutsuchi was if your on hard mode without Rakukaja , Infinite light will almost indefinitely lead to a one hit KO. Kagatsuchi took less than 10 minutes
Lucifer fight was similar, but it took around 15 minutes. Probably less because its been awhile.
This was my best because i usually relied on MC to deal most of the damage, )because i love the fight so much) but i refused Michael to be super heavy damage dealer, so that cut the time.
I beat him on my first playthrough on my first try. I had Vishnu, Shiva, and Dante (I wanted Metatron, but he was a pain to get) My party was beyond Level 99
Demi-fiend was pretty much my only damage dealer as well. Pixie, Futomimi, and Black Frost were just there as support casters and turn passers. Although, Futomimi could do some respectable damage with his fire boosted Prominences when full buffs/debuffs were up.
