I was up there a couple days ago. It takes a bit of effort to make it up that trail. The view on the way down looking over WV is better than the view at the high point. All those trees are down in that logged section.
Welcome to West Virginia, I live in Pa but have had a camp at Mt. Storm Lake for many years. Dad and I hiked in Dolly Sods Wilderness long before cell phones and GPS. Lot's of places for you to explore, Have fun!
I like the Dolly Sods. My wife and I camped and hiked there before we were married, many years ago. My school friend Sonny has a cabin in WV. I'd like to re-connect with him and check that out again.
y you are here in west virginia go see the new river gorge if you have time you will love it there some great trails to hike and its nick name the grand canyon of the east I live close to thurmond west virginia
Thanks for another great video. That view may have been smallish but was still beautiful. Thanks so much for taking me along. Please stay safe and take care
you will love seneca, the rocks are a fun hike but guessing your fear of heights might make you shy away from from that one, seneca creek is pretty nice also.
I'm at 18 state highpoints. It must rain there a lot because when I did it I hiked up in the pouring rain and I didn't have that view. But I checked it off. Just did NY, VT, NH and MASS last week. GREAT VIEWS. Heading out west for Mt. Whitney, will probably also do Arizona and Nevada. Great video!

There is only 1 marker along this trail. The signs were pointing you towards a state boundary marker from the early 1900's. This is the 3rd in a series of WV MD boundary markers.
Marker#3 is an historical state boundary marker not a trail marker. Shouldve went left at that trail juncture on a very short side trail up the rocks to the boundary marker.
I'd be careful wondering around down there in WV. you might end up taking part in some mountain girls shotgun wedding. 😨 Sorry, I couldn't help myself. 🤣 WV. is a beautiful state, I've met some fine folks down there.
This channel sticker has been found!
You should have gone to fairfax stone where George washington survey the start of the Potomac river
I’ve lived in Maryland for years and haven’t been to the high point! Need to change that. Thanks for sharing your adventure!

At 11:18 there’s a small sign up in a tree, upper left. ?
The forest is so green!

I heard South Mtn is an interesting area. Lots of Civil Wat history combined with a few "haunted tales".
Hi Cliff, a nice hike with a pretty cool view as a reward. Thank you for sharing, much love. xx 💖

Its weird the highest point in md is in West Virginia
He said the trail started in WV but the highest point is in MD.
I guess you went up there on a weekday, otherwise the place should be packed of hikers.
