We can never figure out exactly how could someone come up with an invention like the cube! What was going through that brain! My hats are permanently off for you Mr. Rubik...
This man brought millions of people together and still does now, the WCA is a celebration of Ernos brilliance and the people who perfected the cube to be the best. Aswell as the most selling toy of all time by far. God bless fam
A great interview, the best I've seen he actually gets a chance to talk rather then just answer time restrained questions. More interviews should be handled this way by others, and sharing them on UA-cam is also a great way to share the interviews with the fans and to get that persons thoughts out to more people, and in turn makes the viewers want to watch more of your interviews. Great job!!!
I have become an accidental introvert in my 50’s, having solved the cube at very young age without instruction, hearing impaired-no asl. Thank you Erno Rubik, my life is starting to make sense! It’s about the HOW. Not speed or memorization. The skill is practical yet the personal applications to real life scenarios has been quite challenging. Woah what a journey!💛🕊
I would love to talk with this man. Not because I am a big fan, but because this man is a genius, his ideas and concepts of space are amazing, it is hard to explain exactly.
THANK YOU ERNO! I AM LIKE LIVING MY LIFE WITH THE RUBICS CUBE! I AM THE ONLY ONE IN MY WHOLE SCHOOL WHO CAN DO IT! AND I STARTED DOING IT SINCE THIRD GRADE!
I discovered the solving system myself - figured it out myself, took me 2 months. My sense of accomplishment was much bigger then copy pasting moves from the web :P Now I got the Rubik's Cube 4x4x4. Wish me luck :)
He also invented a lot of great logical toys, such as the Babylon Tower or the Snake. He is a person, who the hungarians should proud of. (Sorry for my English!)
What a great and lasting toy!!! One of the great inventions of the 20th century. One of the best social pieces!! The Rubik's Cube is a Soul saver (you have to think about this one!) .
this man was ahead of his time. rubik cube is difficult for some adults I just got one and going to try to solve it on my own. like video games nightmare mode. wish me luck. This man is more than a genius he should go down in the world best innovations.
millions of cuber should thank him!!! for real!!! i have read in wikipedia that rubiks cube is the worlds most dominant game ever, said it has over 2 billion admirer..damn
Thank you sir. And yes, I have heard about your cube. And your 360. And your revenge. and professor. and magic. and snake. and 2x2. Thank you for making this world a more colorful place. And for the looks on peoples faces when I stare them down after the last step in CFOP. Erno Rubik, who I have done a biography project about, solved your cubes 1000s of times, and began my internet and xbox careers boasting about my ability to solve your challenge. Thank you for changing and impacting my life.
I like rubik cubes for its colors in my childhood... In that days I took off all parts separate and reshape it. Now days i want to solve it in genuine way so i start learn how to solve it.
I can't imagine he was that impressed with himself when he first 'solved' it. I doubt it was even a question of possibility. The thing is manufactured solved. So he knew it was entirely possible. Sort of how a puzzle starts out as a complete picture, and only then is it cut and randomized. He manufactured a solved cube then just noted his moves to jumble it up, then reversed it.
@@genericusername4206 what your saying is nonsense and taking things out of context. Tony fisher came out AFTER the cube was invented and he used that as a baseline, this whole idea that he “came unless with a method in 3 days” isn’t true as he knew the cube’s existence for a LONG while than that for him to make other versions of it, so yes it IS that hard to make one and to solve it. It’s easier now a days to solve it because people now have a lot of help and reference, but Erno had to create a puzzle from scratch that he knew was already mathematically possible to solve which no one has done before with a cube that functions like a toy. That’s a MASSIVE difference between whatever Tony fisher has done as he had many puzzles down the line to use as reference. Their not comparable at all and it IS that hard to come with the Cube and for most people to solve it this day.
When I searched online for information about how long it took Erno Rubik to solve the Rubik's cube, I found that it took him one month. But here he obviously states that it took him a couple of months (which means at least 2-3 months). You can see that at 1:40.
very hard to understand what he's saying should put subtitles on it but it's still the best vid because I get to hear and see what he says about his invention
I knew it! He found it out it in reverse! :) My point is, you dont need to know principles of solving the cube to discover it. Make the rotating joint mechanism and then paint the sides. First you have the result and then the probblem is automaticly generating itself. It is right because once it was in the right position. Cha! Love that attitude! Rubik rulez :)
I just solved it after spending hours watching a UA-cam tutorial on it. I’m absolutely certain I would have never been able to solve it without that..I would have spent my whole life on it loll
haha.. nice question.. :) i heard for this sphere from friends.. who read the newspapper and they told me about it.. so i had to check in youtube, cool and i think that interview is much better than the one in "The Big Breakfast"...
That's right! I recognise that I haven't solved it yet, but I am still trying, and I'd prefer to solve it by myself! It is not fare to inspire from tutorials, at least if you think at the man from England who has struggled about 24 years to solve it. I think that he is verry prout for this performance, because he has solvedit by himself!
several month to solve alone , tho only one can say without any boubt he didn't use tutorial, imagine if he gave up .... thank you , good lesson , never give up
when I was a kid, every Sunday my mum used to give me some coins and send me to the church. Well, that would be her version. LOL I never told her but I kept all the money and after some time I bought the Cube. God, please, forgive me, but this toy is still fucking amazing.
@siklit not only that.. this 3x3x3 cube push me to try out the 4x4x4 , 5x5x5, 7x7x7..and you know what, to solve them you use the same formula, well except for the first couple of steps to find the center piece. The point Im trying to make is that the 3x3x3 cube is the father of all cubes, therefore no matter who builds the others, Mr Rubik is still the ispiration of all.
Thank you Erno Rubik for your invention!

maxdecphoenix he didn't note what moves he did to solve it, meaning that he brute-forced a method into existence in only s month
Yaboi GD i mean tony fisher made a method in 3 days so it isn’t that hard

I wonder how good he is at solving his creation.
duh professor I think there is a patern you go by to solve it, once you learn it or figure it out it's easy.
Naer I'm late but-
I believe when he said "how good" he meant it as in "how fast is he" like sub-1, sub-30, sub-20, sub-10 etc
Ernő is probably the best 😃
Csabi Csabi probably far from
EDIT: at 2:09 Rubik says his average was about 1 minute, meaning he's about equivalent to a beginner
Marianne I wasn't saying that Erno was equivalent to a modern beginner that learned from a guide, just that his time was
thank you for your invention! :)

Kids are smart. They can spot stupid shit that panders to kids, and they know nobody will think they're cool for playing with it.
