Swapping in a clutch from a 550i will be enough to help your trans handle a decent amount of torque. Kern417 has a few vids on what the manual trans can handle.
is this xdrive? Also do you have any idea if launching is safe past the 500whp mark? I do be wary of axles and the trasmission struggling with torque. I know it can start slipping at the 650 torque mark in some cars and 6th gear is especially weak. See i want an auto for DD and launching but if it cant handle the power for launching often then id probs go manual for the engagement. Cuz i dont wanna be scared and like holoding back all the time cuz what if it breaks and im in the middle of nowhere lol
@@captainminecraftist I also haven’t gotten bored with the Zf8 in my 20’ M340i and I come from all manuals before this. Last car was an Evo 9. For some reason the car keeps getting better and better. I really enjoy this auto and car in general.
stage 3 downshifts are a bit too aggressive for me so I use personalized throttle blips. Also used line pressure bump. Others are personal preference like use stock shiftmaps and take off in 2nd gear.
What octane are you running with your E50? I’m running E50 92 octane mix with Pure 800 Dorch stage 2 and I only get like 555 wheel/430 torque dyno. Yours looks much faster lol
@@boost9533 thats about right for the gc though i would expect torque to be higher. That hp number is usually what you get around the point where it doesnt make sense to keep pushing it efficiency wise. You casn squeeze 600 with ethonol but its working hard. pure 800 has a higher cap, but really the new one is going to be a bunch better because it has a custom housing rather than modifying your existing stock turbo. Which is what they used to do with the pure 800. I think it was becasue during the pandemic they ran out of stock turbos to use for people who didnt want to send theirs in and it was hampering sales
Well the m340is (2019+) dont have hpfp upgrade options so you're limited to around 500whp unless you got port injection. 2016-2018 340is you can get a dorch st2 hpfp which supports around 700whp.
The b58 engine does not have a bov and it's not practical to install one either. This specific turbo I have makes the sound. I am waiting for another turbo with the t51r mod though. Also it sounds more like a flutter than a sneeze in person.
@@ryanz9513 No it's just a stage 1 hybrid turbo (stock hot side, but a little bigger compressor ). Will get a full frame turbo soon from Remnant Performance with their t51r mod.

This doesn't have a clutch. The ZF8 in this car is good to 1000Nm to my knowledge.

The car is RWD with drag radials. I don't launch my car so I wouldn't know, but I try not to overheat my trans. Go for a manual.

I feel like my paddle shifts are slower than stock there’s a hesitation now on normal driving but on WOT it’s really fast is that normal
