Shot in 1978 on 16 mm film high atop Haleakala Crater on the island of Maui. Gary Malabar of Steve Millers band plays drums and Peter Noone sings backup with Merrell.
Wow! I have that guitar now! Bought it in a California guitar shop! It sounds great, just like in this video! It's one of a kind. I just emailed Merrell about it. I'm glad I found this video too! Nice job.
I think that Merrell's song about star and UFOs is true I believe in other worlds in external space, thank you again for so much plesure and happiness with this spacey song .For me this song represents freedom and openess and it is far better than most of pink floyd's songs .I do also like Pink Floyd music but their music can be depreesed and dark in some way but this song has a lot of light !
Hi Zack, Glad you like the song, it was quite a memorable journey to the top of Haleakala crater on Maui to film the video back in 1978. The song was inspired by a UFO sighting I had there.
@1:38, is that the pyramid you were telling Scott Teeter about on Far Out Radio? (For anyone who wants to hear it, it's titled Lemuria, the Land of MU, Legends... on the Far Out Radio channel).
I just listened to 'A Day In Paradise', one of my truly gifted record buys. This leads it off ..
I always wonder if songs like this were re-released today how well they'd do. An excellent song (IMO) that just wasn't heard by enough people.

Thanks for taking care of "Old Blue", its a special instrument !
Rock On !
I have this 7” single. Cool there’s a video for this cosmic jam.
Friend of Merrell Fankhauser recommended this song especially .. so I have to say .. great work after listening! ..

I've been to Haleakala; it's pretty special. Is this album available for purchase?
awesome
rock and roll butler brought me here.
Marshall York this song is super, great, couldn't be better.
And the video! Great productions values. And remember, this was 1977.
its too bad his career died a horrible, putrid, stench filled, resetting the clock into your wetsuit death.
Merrell is my kinda guru
Apparently this is my second cousin I believe? I love his music just being introduced
