Very nice project, thanks for sharing. To remove pallet wood nails I use this air powered nail remover "Air Locker AP700 Heavy Duty Professional Air Punch Nailer." The current Amazon price is $55 USD, there are others, with a small Bostitch pancake compressor. With the pallet board on sawhorses I place a 5 gallon bucket half full of water under the boards as I remove the nails from the wood. The water quickly slows the speed of the nails exiting the wood, the bucket captures the nails and keeps them from flying around the shop/driveway. An air powered nail punch will decrease your pallet slat recovery time expotentially. Again, thanks for sharing. This is a great project and video.
That's so awesome Mat!!! Have you thought about making wood template for the Sled? Would be easier and faster than using the paper template...just a suggestion 🙂 Thank you for another fun video 😁
I should get me some 1/8th plywood for this, or even use a full wood piece. I didn't think i'd make so many, yet here I am still using the first paper!
I considered it but I feel like it limits people watching being able to remake them when I whip out the compressor. It did cross my mind many times though haha, thanks for watching!
@@618Sawdust Oh damn that's awesome, you got this! Some day I want to build one of those for sure, redo my paint table area and get that damn oil tank out of there (unused). Fun stuff, good luck with sales!
I should really make it, I didn't expect them to take off so good then I just kept going that way. You're definitely right though, would be more precise too. Thanks for watching!
Sadly, you can purchase actual real vintage sleds similar to this any day of the week for between $20 - $50. FB marketplace is loaded with them in Central Florida.
I think you are under-valuing your labor. Perhaps prices should be material cost plus 3X material cost for labor. For example: material $30 + 3X material $90 = $120.00. For a well built sled, this is reasonable.
I am raising the prices by 15 this weekend, but yeah, it's hard to raise prices too much here, i've tried with benches and other things, and I just end up not selling. This is selling very well though so by December I expect to be selling them for a bit more. Thanks for the tips and watching!

The bucket full of water is a great idea! I do have a similar gun but wow do they go flying, that's a great idea ill try it some day thanks!
Really good that these are selling for you! It's nice when you get a product that you can turn over easily.
Sure is fun not to end up with 2-3 of an item in my basement not selling. It doesn't happen alot, but it does!
They look really nice.
Thanks!
i knew these would be big when I seen your first video. I have set myself up to batch them out, starting this weekend.
Have fun and good luck! People love them I get huge compliments from most buyers.
If they were that successful, or pragmatic, why would he open the market?
Awesome work and great color. Stain brown
I love that red feom rustoleum, apple red
Closest pine board like that in my area is about $13 US
even for a 4’ board? that’s crazy. We do have it nice here in Quebec, even compared to more west in Canada.

Good job and video Keep building
Thanks! Good little bonus money for Christmas, working hard for it! I made 4 more this weekend.
You could speed up the assembly by switching to glue and brad nails. Nice product. I think I will make some for our own décor.

I can see why they’re selling so fast, nice job!
Thanks! I love them, when December comes ill have one in my front yard!
I started to make some for a craft fair next weekend
Good luck! Make sure to check the single build video's description to get the printable patterns
@Mat_Builds I was able to use my cnc to cut the pieces out

@@Mat_Builds build or buy one big enough. I'm looking to upgrade to a 4x4
It might go faster if you made a thin hard set of cutting jigs
In the shop place them over the stock and make all the cutting guide marks at one.

Great idea and video. Do you happen to have patterns ?

What size band saw do you have and what kind of wood stain is that you use
That's a 14" band saw with a 1/4" blade. The stain is a product from Varathane called Wood Ager. Thanks for watching!
I’ve been selling those for 120 in my area
Amazing, I’m going to raise my price after this weekend. I’ve been wanting to try 75. Thanks!
I hadn't decided on a price yet
@@Mat_Builds if you're putting thirty bucks into it you should be able to get between 80 and 100. not enough margin in 60, in my opinion.
@@briankillebrew 30 was for all 6, the 3 1x10s and 2 2x4s plus part of the paint. I will be raising price by 15 though.
What is the tool that you use to drill and countersink your screws?
It's a counter sink drill bit with a auto stopper. I actually got it on TEMU. It's pretty cool, avoids having to use tape to stop drilling too far.
thAT is a good doggie
Sure is, always around when it's time to go outside!
Do you sell patterns for this?
ua-cam.com/video/-AQyOflYNpk/v-deo.html The link to the pattern is in this video. Thanks for watching!
@ thank you
I live in ohio and sell them for 80 to 100. Each raise your price
I did over the past weekend I’m at 75 each now. Thanks for watching!

I believe his material cost is $5/sled but I also thought it was $30 each.
