These pickups have high highs, low lows, and a lot of space in between so that the mids have a scooped sound. This EQ profile will add depth and fullness to your tone.

    Wow- like 5 times repeated I still can't get over how much I love this tone. Heading downstairs to the studio to see how close I can get. It's literally the PERFECT Strat sound to my ears. I have the Fender 69's- which I think should nail it- I believe they're nearly identical specs. Otherwise I might be buying a set of these- or the Texas Hot Antiquities in Nick's guitar. Arghghg!!!! Another great demo from Danny Young! Seymour Duncan really got lucky when they found this guy!! I've never known a single guitarist, besides the almighty Jason Becker, who can literally play multiple styles and have it be spot on. That's such a challenge, and instead of just throwing a demo together and winging it, these are played flawless and definitely shows off the pickups.
    It's good to see that the trolls are out in full force on these demo videos. For all the people who have posted negative comments, like the "Fred Flinstone" fellow, please point me to the website that you're featured on playing guitar. You know, that way I know you have some credibility and can witness how much better you are. Just drop the link below. I'm sure you can play a million times better than Danny.

I keep my pickups nearly flush with the pickguard I like to revive my tone further down the line on my board, this is to lose the abrasiveness from always muting just to play a chord, the goal is to play percusively

    • @kertackle
      @kertackle 9 років тому +2

      Your quite right. The pedal, amp and strings all impact the tone significantly. Because the eq of the pickups give a scooped mid response, you can afford to go heavier on the string gauge without the neck pickup sounding too muddy (like with hotter pickups) then pushed into the Marshall 2245thw by the 805 really is something that has to be experienced live as the recordings can only hint at how good this setup sounds flat out in a large room (30 Watts)

    This is exactly the tone I want, but I can't drop $300 on this set. I've been trying to find something close for cheaper but nothing can compare!

      Well, that's mix of amp+pickups combo. Get Fender CS 69 pickups, and make sure you plug into any kind of vintage marshall (JTM45 like) and you will get very close.

      Those pickups plus the most outrageously expensive amp out there.

      I bought a handwired Bluesbreaker. Finally got the greenbacks broken in. It is absolutely the best amp I’ve ever played through. It sounds like heaven with my Les Paul. Now, I just need to put a set of these in my strat!

    is the jimi hendrix set almost identical to the one of yesteryear, or is it just a marketing move?

  • @user-gm5by6dj3d

    Exact same tone with Apache wolverin amp 18 watts built by Tommy Aguilar.and strat.

  • @Ledprostate
    @Ledprostate 6 років тому

    Remember--Jimi, SRV, Trower, all used stock strat pickups (Ronnie Earl, too)...and a zillion others

    • @kertackle
      @kertackle 6 років тому +2

      Not true, Jimi had Seymour Duncan rewind pickups for him. Many of these players played around with replacing their pickups, swapping them out for others that seemed to sound better to their ears. Some of them had failed and so were rewound...The Hendrix set are based on the ones Seymour rewound for Jimi. To say that stock pickups are just fine is like saying all strats are the same.

    @SeymourDuncan I am obsessed with the combination of these pickups and whatever pedal is used during the black lighting!! What pedal is that?

    • @kertackle
      @kertackle 8 років тому +2

      The Seymour Duncan 805 overdrive was used on the black light sections...there is also some vintage lexicon plate if I remember correctly...it's definitely vintage lexicon.

    90% of this tone is from the vintage amp and the player.

      Sound wise I agree completely. Amp is everything, and attack ect is the player

      Not at all. Couldn't get this great of sound with a mexi strat.

    • @gunkanjima3408
      @gunkanjima3408 4 роки тому +13

      @@slash2jimi You're nuts dude! USA and MIM strats are virtually identical, aside from pickups and small details like fret ends and a setup.

    • @slash2jimi
      @slash2jimi 4 роки тому +7

      @@gunkanjima3408 absolutely not. I have some of these pickups in a partscaster and you can tell theres a HUGE difference between these and my mexi strats. I own several. Pickups make a huge difference. You can still get a great sound with a mexi strat but the pickups definitely play a big role.

    Great guitar?? With all respect to Seymore D, why would one mod a '62 reissue unless putting humbuckers in.

    Hi Seymour Duncan! If I wanted these GREAT sounding pickups delivered in Hong Kong, how could I do that? Thanks guys! Also how would you say these compare to your Signature Hendrix pickups?

    • @seymourduncan
      @seymourduncan  7 років тому +3

      You would order them through your local dealer. These are modeled after traditional single coils of the late 60s, while the Hendrix pickups are recreations of the exact pickups Seymour wound for Jimi Hendrix.
